Traddles, being, after all, a turtle/tortoise, has at long last shown up for the very exclusive amphibian* Martin Perry 25th Archive Auction.
Two out of an extremely limited edition will join a one of a kind pile of his reletives and two prototypes of some not quite so close reletives in an effort to allow some very special collectors to add to their very special collections. As always these will be closed bids and the highest bids will take home the prize. In the case of tied bids the time of the bids will determine the winners, so be sure to get your bids in as soon as possible. The Archive auctions are silent auctions which means that no one will know what anyone else has bid. Therefore it is necessary for you to place your bid by bidding what you think the piece is worth to you and then waiting to see if you have won. I email the winners within an hour or so of the auction ending. At that time I inform the winners of the total amount (estimated shipping, insurance, etc.) and payment instructions. There is no minimum and no reserve. Bids must be sent either to [email protected] or phoned in to: 757 722-1943 or 805 478-0653. Bids sent to any other email address or phoned in to any other telephone number WILL NOT BE HONOURED. Your bid will be acknowledged within 8 hours (usually much faster) and if it is not, please resubmit it.The auction will end at 10PM EST, 9PM CST, 7PM PST on WEDNESDAY, 23 JANUARY 2008 (That is 24.1-3:00AM GMT)These are the Fabulous amphibians* we are offering today.*Yes, I know that they are not really all amphibians, but it sounded good By Martin & Corinna Perry
TRADDLES You've all seen, or at least heard of and coveted, Weight of the World, by none other than that Master Carver
PETE CALVESBERT
Well, how many of you have ever thought that you might own the hard body sample that he carved long before the release of that fabulous piece? The Harnony Kingdom web site explains it all:
"In the words of the artist: ?I>Weight of the World?taught me an interesting lesson. It reminded me, if I needed reminding, that the original idea of humorous animal boxes was an excellent concept. I started this model a number of years ago as an attempt to carve something a little bit different. At first it was solid and painted with the high gloss finish that was later used on the Fragile World range. Over time it was improved by using the stained finish typical of Harmony Kingdom, instead of the gloss. An interior was added and a more traditional base was carved to help in the manufacturing. It was now clear that I had come full circle and ended up with a model that would not look out of place in the Harmony Kingdom range. So I suppose it’s true what they say. . .“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it? The model is missing one feature typical of my HK pieces ?it is mouseless." to be added below later and last, but never least we have toads....
Carved and Released in May of 1995 by Master Carver and one of Martin's oldest friends, PETE CALVESBERT's PUDDLE HUDDLE We have 2 colour prototypes available |
