Hi, I was wondering if anyone had photos of the "Damnable Plot" inscription "Claire" and "Luka" that where later removed? Also, I have "Journey Home" and I can't find the Harmony Ball symbol on it, anyone know where it is? Thank you :-)

Robert

Hey Robert,
I pulled out my magnifying glass and seached my Journey Home.  While I have the Heart stamp on the lid, I couldn't find a Harmony Ball symbol.  Sorry!

Someone emailed in this:

Please post that the Harmony Ball logo can be found on the last stone on the right when the heads are facing towards you. My "Journey Home" has no other hallmarks and has a star on the lid.

I checked ours... and we have one with the Moon crown stamp... and I can;t find the HBC logo on any of the stones either.  But then... the Moon stamp is from 1999 and the Star stamp is from 1998... and if they were using the same molds, its possible they would have been "worn off" by then...????

Anyone else see something on theirs?

From the Harmony Kingdom website on Journey Home:

This single fish box figurine is a very early piece and does not incorporate the hidden mouse, inscriptions, inner carving, or hallmarks. The HBC logo was added to this piece in 1996.

Ok, here's another question :-) Only the Large Treasure Jests where sold and fnished by SAC right? what ones exactly. I know the ducks, the four released by HK later and the two never released by them and I know Journey home, cause I have one and I'm almost positive Rise and Shine was. But does anyone know if the pieces listed below where finished and sold by SAC? I would assume Pen Pals and Tea for Two would because their are versions of HK out there with SAC still visible on them. But none of the other pieces named below do right? Just curious. :-)

Awaiting  A Kiss
Straight From The Hip
Standing Guard
Pride and Joy
Horn A' Plenty
On A Roll
One Step Ahead
Pen Pals
Step Aside
Sunny Side Up
Tea for Two

Where any other pieces like the Hi-Jinx too?

Just my opinion here...

But I think that "Rise and Shine" is way too recent of a box as to have been part of the Studio Ann Carlton days... since "Rise and Shine" was released on 11/5/2002.

I can confirm that these were definitely SAC pieces...
"Horn A Plenty" (Large Rhino)
"Pen Pals" (Large Pigs)
"Pondering" (Duck)

I have also heard (but not seen) the SAC versions of the other duck pieces ("Quiet Waters", "Keeping Current", "Drake's Fancy", plus the 2 that HK/HBC did not release).

I do not believe that "Awaiting a Kiss" was part of the SAC collection either -- I recall a story where this piece was one of the first pieces carved specifically for HK/HBC to hold the chiming sphere pendant necklaces... so cannot imagine that they would have also sold them through SAC.

"Straight From the Hip" could be one -- it is from the same era as "Horn A Plenty"

I don;t have any information on the rest :-(

Rise and shine was a rerelease of the large rooster that was availble only through Stuido Ann Carlton (from what I heard at the time of it's release) with the two variations on the inside, the origina SAC version was empty and I'm not sure the colors used. I had a picture of it at one time, but i can't find it now. Thank you Mike for the great info.

So you're awaiting a kiss has nothing on the little plaque either? I have two , one real old, no stamps that has the plaque scraped clean and one much later with the same scraped look to the plaque. I just checked my Pen Pals and it does fainly say SAC, was that ever changed to the Harmony Ball Symbol? I'm not writing a book :-) I'm just really really inquisitive and board.

I have an Awaiting a Kiss with the SAC on the plaque.  Here's a photo of the plaque:

ok -- not to split hairs... but yes, "Rise and Shine" was a re-release... sort of the earlier large rooster piece --- but it is a little different in size and supposedly (from the pictures I have seen over the years) slightly different in colouring... so that's why I said that "Rise and Shine" wasn;t part of the group -- but of course, you are correct, the original Large Cockerel was from that era :-)

As far as "Awaiting a Kiss" -- oops... guess it was also a re-release after all.  I do recall a conversation (and barely at that) with Martin and Noel about the early days and I do seem to remember both of them saying that "Awaiting a Kiss" was the first piece done to hold a chiming sphere... now it could have been the first piece "modified" to hold a chiming sphere I guess... and I just don't recall that detail or I could have just gotten the whole thing wrong from the start.  Sorry :-(

Thanks for the correction and the picture Pam!  That's why we are all here - to share that wealth of information locked up in our heads and sitting on our collectible shelves!  lol

Ok, here's another one. Cookie's Jar. I have the First Edition and Infinity Edition both with brown stain on the inside and a First Edition with black stain on the inside. The outside's look no different to me. Does anyone know if Infinity came with black stain also? Just curious. I doubt we'd be lucky enough to have any edition size info on these either.
