This year we are especially thankful - of course for our wonderful family and terrific friends, but also for what we have learned from Hurricane Ike ! Yes - we are more aware than ever of how very fortunate we are and now we will be reaching out more than ever to try to help those who have been left with absolutely nothing at all - there are so many. Last week we drove down to our old favorite area on Bolivar Peninsula - a little community of Gilchrist - it is not only not there . . . there is NOTHING there - the pictures we had seen just don't have the same impact as seeing it for oneself. Our lives have been impacted for sure with the raw realization of the total devastation of this entire area. And so we ask everyone to just pause & say a prayer for all those less fortunate than ourselves. We are so lucky to still be . . .
Thanks Lynn for the update. The news sounds really bad. One of friends contacted me the other day . We plan to drive down she will be getting an Ike survivor a cat that was left homeless. jeanne
