These are crossposts from petfinder. They are netsites that may need help fostering military pets due to the call-up. It seems like a good & easy way to help out.
1)We have a web site that is set up to match offers to foster with the military personal that are called to duty and can not take their pets. If you know of someone who needs a place for their pets or if you would like to help by fostering please go to the web site http://www.saladhead.com/lost/homes.html
2) If you are interested in fostering dogs and cats for military who go abroad see this site http://www.felinerescue.net/noblefoster/intro.htm
3) Please consider joining the Military Pet Rescue Network. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MilitaryPetRescueNet and click on "Join This Group". Click on the "database" link on the left side and fill in your information. It asks how you would like to help, what type of animal you can foster or transport, etc.

Suzi, Thanks so much for posting this!!! I saw it in the cat newsgroups, but didn't really pay attention. Now, my husband is getting into figuring out what he can do to help out, short of joining the reserves, so I brought up the subject of fostering military pets. We haven't discussed it yet, but the seed has been planted in his head. :) Loki would love some new playmates...if only Freya were a little friendlier. But our guest bedroom is large enough for long term stays, if need be. Catherine |
