FYI HK collectors.... this just in from our friends in the Harmony Ball Co:

Post Date: 7/18/2008

“Ebony?the donkey and “Ivory?the elephant arrive stateside mid August, just before the Democratic and Republican conventions. But before the heated political battle is in full swing, the Dem’s mascot plans a trip to a British seaside resort. Donning a saddle, he will sit on the beach and offer rides to children. Sponsored by The Clothes Rail, he is seen wearing a “Loopy Lady?headband. Notice the crab between his hooves and 8st near his rump. Peter has observed that children are getting heavier and heavier and felt the donkey needed to impose a weight limit to prevent his legs from buckling.

Only 50 “Ebony on the Beach?have been created, and they will be available exclusively through The Clothes Rail, the U.K.’s one and only HOL dealer. The Clothes Rail will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary (www.radcliffedonkeys.com), where old and “useless?donkeys are allowed to live in happy retirement. For further information, please contact The Clothes Rail by visiting their website at www.loopyladies.com.

I spotted the new post on the HK website when I got home tonight!  And I went and ordered one!  Hopefully I made it in time to get one!  I really like the donkey - both the 'standard' and this special version!  Although that donkey better keep a close watch on that crab, given where the crab has chosen to sit...
