| Our vacation will probably be going to CA to see our son before he heads to Kuwait for 6 months. His 4 years are up, but he's decided to re-enlist. Can't say he likes CA and he says nothing is happening in Kuwait. He'll be doing flight security on planes in and out of there. I sure hope it goes well. He sat for Staff Sargent, so hopefully he'll be putting on those stripes in the next year. |

| Don't know about the career, but since I think it's a "security blanket" right now, it's a possibility. it may also depend if he can cross train into another security area. He was born in San Diego, so you're right, it's a nice place to visit, but difficult to live there. It wasn't easy between 1985-1988 either. |

| 4 days until we're on the plane to CA. Michael is even excited we're coming. He managed an extra day off from work. Unfortunately doesn't sound like we'll be able to go through the Big Sur because of the fires. I'm sad, it's such a beautiful area. |

| We got back yesterday. CA was lots of fun. Highway 1 through the Big Sur opened on Sunday just in time for us to go through on Monday. Saw lots of burnt hillsides. Right down to the road, but it didn't jump it. It had to have been scary! |

| Today starts my last day of my summer. Aug. 11 it's back to school. Steve just left with Mari, our oldest, for a week of hiking and mountain climbing in CO. I'm relaxing at home!!!!! |
