Donna lives where all of the floods are and she is in danger of losing so much.  He friends and fellow neighbors are in peril of such loss..  I am sending out a very special prayer for her and all of the disaster victims.  Our thought are with you and everyone else.   May God take care of all of you.  We pray the levees hold and keep the water back.  xoxoxo  Cat

Thanks so much for your prayers. It is so comforting to know that there are prayer partners out there! We are so lucky to have our house where it is, but so many like our daughter have such a mess ahead to deal with. So far the levies are holding where one of the elevators in the company have alot of corn in bins in danger of getting wet. But the most important part is that family and friends are safe, and for that we are thankful. Possesions can be repalced but people can't. Thanks for your thoughts, and I hope that  all is well with your families!
Donna

Well I heard this morning that so far everything is holding and it shouldn't food anymore.  We just need the rain to stop and give us a chance to dry out.  It rained again here...take care Donna, we are all sending off the prayer chain.

Prayer works!  No more breaks yet, and thankfully no more rain for now. The National Guard won't let anyone back in to see their houses yet, so we wait....

Our area in Indiana, the voting machines are no good. Something to think about come November. Looks like it'll be paper ballots again.

So far so good! Our Daughter  was able to get into their house this weekend. She said thankfully the water did not get into the living area, but it looks like there had been at least 8 foot of water in the lower level. They lost their furnace, and two freezers, and a bunch of food and the water was up into their electrical box. Also a bunch of expensive  hunting equipment was lost. They have shut their main power switch off, so  when the power is restored to that area they won't have stuff trying to come on and maybe start a fire. There is mud on the floor and all over the walls , and the smell is unbelievably bad.  So until the power is turned back on they can't do alot. She did say, that they saw a snake upstairs in their living area so he will have to be found before she is even going to go back inside! Hope he didn't bring any friends with him! The levy held at the Wever Elevator so that was a big blessing!  Thanks so much for all of you, who have kept all of us, in your prayers.

Donna this is jsut another example of mother nature at its' worst and the blessing that was bestowed upon your daughter.  There are so many that have lost everything and in Iowa the levee didn't hold...they think a muskrat weakened it  We are still sending out prayers for all of the states under this disaster.  I just can't imagine going through such an experience and God help us not to either.  Keep your chin up..we will be watching.

Yea!! They caught the snake! Haven't caught anymore either. The electrician is coming today, so as soon as FEMA is done inspecting all the residences the power will be turned on so everyone can start to clean up. Progress is being made. Despite the reason for our daughter having to stay with us, it has been nice to have her "home" for awhile!
