Well we have massive flooding here, US 30 is out, Route 2, Us 231, Broadway, 80/94 from I 65 to Cline, 149, 130 in Valpo, Munster the levee gave way and they are evacuating, Hammond is as well.  Crown Point schools, Portages schools, and Merrillville schools are closed.  We can't get past our roads to cross north of 30, cars are stalled in wigh water areas, Ridge in Highland are taking ppl out in boats again, and of course US 41 in Higland is closed.  This is the worst I have ever seen it and it keeps on raining.  Brian's roof is coming off his home in Ohio, his insurance said his area is considered a catastrophe .... going to make for a difficult Monday. Another prayer to say tonight for the US...

The area is still in bad shape, I 65 and 80/94 is still down.....the sun is out though...have you seen the pictures? This is a disaster this has been and we don't even compare to the gulf.

I just was watching Channel 7's video at Kennedy Ave. What a mess! When they did all that reconstruction, did they lower the road? I sure don't ever remember it flooding like that. What's happening in Highland along the River? I can't image that Highland was spared.

The water finally ahs gone down..no Mojo they did not build up the expressway. It does seem lower now.....Cline in Griffith flooded over the golf course clubhouse. The expressway was closed down until Thursday along with I-65.  Munster, Schererville, Crown Point, Highland, Griffith, and all the way into Porter Co was under.  Did you see the Dunes?  They lost a parking lot and had a lot of erosion at the beach.  This was a once in a century storm.   There are some roads left with minimal water on them.  A lot of clean up to do now.   There was 10-11 inches of rain in less than 48 hrs.....

Yeah I did see the pics up at the Dunes. That just shows you can't build on sand.

Brian got his first estimate just today...new roof is coming..he had just a minor leak in his living room from the roof being torn off.  He can live with that damage.

I'm glad it wasn't worse and that his insurance is taking care of it.  I feel bad for those that were told they didn't need flood insurance and then......
