I probably posted this but too lazy to find it, I usually add more spices and use 3-15 oz. cans of tomato sauce, I made grilled cheese and pb&j spirals to go with it.. Hey bill, where are you? LOL

Faith58's Chili

I have made this for years and everyone loves it. I add more tomato sauce then called for and spices depending how spicy you like it. I also double the recipe so we can eat it more than one day. I also use 3-15 oz cans of tomato sauce because we like it juicy. If you would like you can top with shredded cheddar cheese.. I make this with grilled cheese and pb&j spriral's for a complete meal.

1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
3/4 cup chopped green peppers
1 lb stewed tomatoes
1 lb dark red kidney beans, drained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 bay leaf

6 servings

1 hour 20 minutes 20 mins prep

  1. Cook meat and onion and green pepper until meat is browned and vegetables under tender. Drain.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients and cover and simmer for 1 hour. Remove Bay leaf when finished.
