Here's how Bush responded to the recent crisis in New Orleans

"Commenting on the facilities that have been set up for the evacuees -- cots crammed side-by-side in a huge stadium where the lights never go out and the sound of sobbing children never completely ceases -- former First Lady Barbara Bush concluded that the poor people of New Orleans had lucked out.

"'Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this, this is working very well for them,' Mrs. Bush told American Public Media's Marketplace program, before returning to her multi-million dollar Houston home.

"On the tape of the interview, Mrs. Bush chuckles audibly as she observes just how great things are going for families that are separated from loved ones, people who have been forced to abandon their homes and the only community where they have ever lived, and parents who are explaining to children that their pets, their toys and in some cases their friends may be lost forever. Perhaps the former first lady was amusing herself with the notion that evacuees without bread could eat cake."

The Night Before Bushmas
by Robert W. Barker    Mendocino CA USA    December 4, 2005
Send thanks & comments to: [email protected]

'Twas the night before Bushmas and all through the land not a stinker was stirring, no one had a plan.

The stock piles were waiting weapons galore, in hopes of more profit we wage this war.

Iraqi Children all nestled snug in their beds while cluster bombs exploding over their heads.

Bush and his cronies smiling and gay, watch the children die and say: "what a fine day!"

Mrs. Bush in her fine dress and George in his suit, play God to Children from Iraq to Beirut.

From out of the sky there came such a clatter, helicopters arrive we know what's the matter.

I sprang from my indifference out of my bed, to see the children splattered, it bothered my head.

The moon on the desert leaves blood stains galore, each life that is shattered is just one more.

When to my wondering eyes did appear a spike in gas prices "no Christmas this year."

Fronted by Eagles and red white and blue they kill and maim without further a due, a strike at Fallujha and then we'll be through.

Whip up the white phosphorous, we can wipe them clean, eating the flesh to the bone we mean!

George smiles and jokes as he appears here, and children fall daily for his Christmas cheer.

George whistled and shouted and called them by name.

"On Colin on Rummy, on Cheney, on lies and misleads, to the top of illusion we do speed."
"Now Bomb away bomb away bomb away still," watching death and destruction gives George such a thrill.

As dry leaves before the hurricane fly, we watch bombs dropping form the friendly skies.

When out to the Green Zone our brave people arrive no flak jackets there to keep them alive.

And then in a twinkling the terrorist arrive, as Bush cried out: "Bring em on," who cares who dies.

Meanwhile Katrina came into view, old New Orleans ignored and left to her duo.

Bush on his ranch and golf course resides, as people lie dying he smiles and denies.

Ma Bush to Houston to see what was the matter, and cried "The poor really exist, it was not just chatter!"

Ma like what she saw, the people living in the dome, "For them no big change, it's just like Home."

"Mission Accomplished" they did rejoice now over two thousand, dead under Bush.

Our precious children all tarnished from blood and soot, extending their stays while Bush's looking good.

DU they pass out for each mothers young, doing damage to livers from dusk till dawn!

Bush springs to his jet, to his team gave a whistle, and away he flew like king of the missile.

Yet I heard him exclaim as he went out of sight:
"Dick Cheney keep lying, we'll be all right!"
