River,

An article in tonights paper is saying the NOAA is giving advance
warning of a possible tornado outbreak in the Great Plains, Thurs..
Everything is pointing to similar conditions in '74 when 39 tornadoes
touched down.  Said the Eastern half of KS needs to be on the
lookout tomorrow.  Time will tell....we just have to be watchful
and aware.  So, here we go!!

The sirens have sounded three times....they don't leave them
running the whole time.  There was a tornado spotted on the
ground South of Manhattan, close to Interstate 70, it must
have gone back into the clouds.  We have another cell headed
our way....lots of rain and hail now.  Oh, the sirens have been
sounded again....better run.  Will check back.

I think we're done with tornadoes this evening.  Been a
wild few hours.  The last time I checked the rain
gauge it was nearly at 3 inches.  It's been raining
off and on but not like it was.

I had been watching the radar too and thought
the storms were headed more North than East.
Well they were but there was that Southern part
of the line that hit us good.  The first time the sirens
went off it was to alert everyone, IT'S HERE!
All day long the wind has been blowing hard, and
around 5:00 or so it stopped, not a leaf was blowing,
that's when the sirens went off the second time and
by this time a tornado had been spotted South of
town, along I-70!  Nothing serious though, a lot of
open space, prairie land, and it must not have been
on the ground long.  Then the rain started again, I
couldn't see to the middle of the field behind the house,
it was a solid wall of water.  Then the sirens went
off again because another tornado had been spotted,
nothing became of it....thank God.  It's quiet on the
home front now....not sure if anything's coming this
way or if we're done for the night.

I don't care to see a repeat of today....we have storms and some really

good ones, but this one takes the cake.  They say tomorrow might be

the same but I think all the action will be further East....I can hope.

That might be a good idea.  There was one time, years ago,

I went to work and someone mentioned the sirens going off

during the night....we didn't hear a thing... ROFL   TwoMoon

says we REALLY need a weather radio...set it and when there's

a watch it'll go off.

Thanks Shandell...it was quite a day but I don't think anyone
