I was wondering if anyone has had good experiance with a piece of equipment of a survival nature.

when I was thirteen I was caught out in a freezing rain on the wrong side of a river. In my unting coat I carried a heater that I had made from a small ham can. I had put corrigated cardbord inside with the cut side sticking up. I then poured this full of wax I had done this so that if I needed a fire I could build one quick.

Well I was dressed for the weather and I had killed a few rabbits that day. We spent the night in a brush pile that had snow covering it.  I lit the wax "stove" and we cooked rabbit and kept warm all night from this thing.

I don't think I would have died without this but it worked just it was suppose to and I was damn glad that I had it.

My sister got it out of the girl scout hand book forty years ago.

You know the old boyscout hand book is pretty good for information.
