To make some firestarters that you can carry in the bush.  Get some cotton balls and thoroughly soak these with Vaseline or petroleum jelly.  Store these in an empty photo film canister (you can get about 15 in there).  These starters once lit will burn for about 2 minutes, handy for the hard to start fire.
