GIFTS FROM GOD
Sometimes gifts from God are in disguise,
and all too often unrecognised.
Help from a stranger at the fruit stand,
a sympathetic sister to hold your hand.
A kiss from a baby so sloppy and sweet,
a much needed smile from someone you meet.
A comforting hug in your time of need,
meeting someone whos not consumed by greed.
A joyful letter from a friend far away,
the knowledge that God loves you come what may,
A rainbow at sunset, a day on the beach,
a long standing friendship, a succulent peach
A sweet summer breeze and the sky so blue,
He sends lovely birdsong and flowers for you.
Not all gifts come in paper and bows,
they can take any form or fashion, who knows.
Thank Him for the sun the moon and the stars,
for it is through Him that this beauty is ours.
I hope that my poem gives you a smile,
and makes you reflect on His gifts for awhile.
