Reflection on Life
So long has been the time
Yet, how speedily it has passed
Since together we were joined
in a union made to last.
We learned much about each other
Day by day in those early years
Our asperations, our hopes and dreams
And yes, even some of our fears.
Oh bittersweet memories, love, sweet love
Of home, of family, of church and friends
Little do one think in the busy years
On blessing, large and small, we depend.
Fifty years, can it be so long?
Three children, several careers and homes
Many plans, some fulfilled, some failed
Where did the time go since we were young.
Now as life draws closer to its end
We think on what was or might have been
And say to each other and to God
Thank you for your promises..AMEN
