A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Proverbs 18:24
GOOD FRIENDS IN BAD TIMES
When troubled times come...
And we don’t know what to do,
God sends good friends to help us through.
When we’re shattered today...
And tomorrows look cloudy and blue,
A good friend can mend and brighten our view!
The door of a good friends heart is held wide open,
For a broken heart to enter ~ piece-by-piece.
A Good friends heart is only satisfied,
When our heartaches completely cease.
Their feet walk that extra mile,
When we just can’t bear to be alone.
Their shoulders are as mighty pillars,
When it’s too hard to stand on our own.
A good friend may drop by ~ out of the blue,
Just to touch base for an hour or two.
Their ears listen closely, to all we need to say.
Their lips tenderly speak sorrows and sadness away.
Their hands lift that heavy load;
Or give a reassuring pat on the back.
It’s good friends that stay ~ thick or thin,
When others so quickly retract.
But there may be times when friendships cease,
And times good friendships, may seem so frail.
It’s dark times like these, which help us see. . .
The truest friend for you and me,
IS THE FRIEND WHO WENT TO CALVARY!
