We are fighting against Satan
In a battle every day
He’s shooting Arrows upon us
Which are headed right our way.
We step behind our shield of Faith,
To guard us from the fire
Then as we find it safe
We step out from behind the shield.
We look at the Christians around us,
And see all the fallen.
We say in our hearts,
"That will never happen to me."
But just then Satan reaches for another arrow
We try to make it back to our shield,
But it is to late,
we fall to one knee.
Satan has put a shot in us,
And a fatal one at that,
But as we feel our injury
We feel the empty shaft.
We look around and there it is,
Something glistening in the sun.
We run to grab it,
As another arrow flies our way.
We see the sword upon the grown,
But as we reach for it
Another arrow pierces us.
We grab the sword,
And block the next attack,
That Satan sends our way.
We shout the Words found on our Sword
And Satan tries to flee,
But as he runs, we catch up.
Attacking with the two-edged Sword,
And Satan is defeated for that day.
But Remember, Oh! Remember,
That God will love us still,
Even when we fail Him,
And give to Satan’s will.
But alas Christian!
Alas, Remember these precious words,
"THE BATTLE IS ALREADY WON!"
