Hang On...
It seems like my prayers don't get past the ceiling, Yet I know in my heart that it's only a feeling. Emotions can trick you and make you believe, Something is true, when you've been deceived.
In pursuit of an answer, I ask God, "How long?" His reply to me was just, "Hang on!" "Lord, I've been praying, so please hear my cry, I'm weary of asking, so I need a reply."
Then quietly, softly like a gentle song, God asked me again to please hang on. "All you seek, I could give, and happy you'd be, You'd have what you ask, but you wouldn't know me.
You'd forget the depth of my love for each Saint, Or know the power I give to the faint. You won't learn to see through the clouds of despair, You won't learn to trust me by knowing I'm there.
You'd never experience my fullness of love, While peace from my Spirit, descends like a dove. You'd forget how the darkness, flees from my Light, And the faith I give, when you walk without sight.
You'd never know when your trials quickly flee, What it means that 'My grace is sufficient for thee' Take comfort my son, and in time you will see, That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me." in his steps |
