Father's Foundation

I’d wake up every morning,
To find you kneeling there,
Bowing down beside your bed, 
Silently in prayer.

I’m sure that you were praying,
 And not only just for me,
But the needs of many others,
 And that Jesus they would see.

I’d see you reading daily,
 And studying the Word,
Searching through the scriptures,
 To better know Our Lord.

The most important message,
 If nothing else I got,
Was Christ died to save me, 
No better message could you’ve taught.

You gave me the guidance,
 And led me in the way,
That pointed to the Savior, 
Who is my Lord today.

I hope when looking at me, 
You see the seed you’ve sown,
Blossoming into a flower, 
From the little girl you’ve known.

Following your faith in Jesus, 
The example you showed me,
I hope when others see me,
 That Jesus too, they see.

Now I have two special Father’s, 
On this and every Father’s Day,
To help me and to guide me,
 To lead me in the way.

So on this special day, Dad 
Thank you for all you’ve done,
For giving my life real meaning
 By showing me His Son!

Dad, I love you very deeply
 And wouldn’t change what I’ve had,
In spite of all my teasing,
I'm proud that you're my Dad!
