Support Beams
You gave,
Your patience and your kindness
An abundance of your love,
Like a quilt pieced together,
Gives warmth to those who're loved.
You gave,
Support and understanding,
Wrapped up in tender care,
Like support beams of a structure,
Hold and brace whatever's there.
You gave,
Advice and instruction,
And your wisdom you shared,
Like Jesus did with His disciples,
And you also showed you cared.
The things that were so needed,
You were willing to supply,
And lend to me your shoulders,
When I needed just to cry.
The things that were so needed,
To make it through another day,
To get over each difficult hurdle,
When there seemed no way.
For all,
The love that you've given,
I love you both so much,
And words could never express,
The places of my heart you've touched.
I always knew you loved me,
And I felt it deep inside,
But your love you put in action,
And your heart you opened wide.
You're very special parents,
And closer now, than ever before,
I couldn't do without you,
Nor could I love you more!
