New Year - New Life...
In just a few days it will be a New Year. I always look forward to the New Year, time for a fresh start. Time to let go of those trials and tribulations of the past year, time to look forward to a new year of growing closer to the Lord, to abide with him, especially in these days of uncertainty.
But at this time, it is also good to ponder the new life in Christ that we receive when we are born from above. And so here are some of the wonderful blessings we receive by the grace and mercy of God.
A new heart - Jeremiah 17:9 says that our heart is deceitful and desperately wicked, but Psalm 51:10 says “Create in me a clean heart, O God…?SPAN> Praise the Lord that he gives us a new heart, a clean heart.
Newness of life - 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.
Newness of spirit - John 14:17 “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot received, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.?nbsp;
New mercies - Lamentations 3:22-23 “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
New and living way ?SPAN> Hebrews 10:19-20 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.?
And someday, we will:
Sing a New Song ?Revelation 14:3 “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.?nbsp;
We will have a New Name ?Revelation 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God…and I will write upon him my new name.?nbsp;
We will live in the New Jerusalem - Revelation Chapter 21
There will be a New Heaven and a New Earth - Revelation 21:1 “And I saw a hew heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
