January Snow
Snow carpets the country side
on quiet, cat like feet
It covers everything so beautifully
while most of us are asleep.
God sent and refreshing
it hides all the dirt
If only humans could do that
we'd hide much of our hurt.
Things we've done to others
unintentional things we've said
unforgotten by frail, human minds
even as we lie abit.
A substitute for snow is forgiveness
it comes hard to some, I know
But Our Father forgave us
why are we so slow?
In this New Year ahead of us
may we strive to rectify things
Then we can, fly like the eagle
with powerful, ever strong wings.
