Her first 12 years were fun and pleasant growing up in a loving family with 2 sisters and a brother.
Junie was born in the depression years where life was tough ,
but love made up for material things that lacked.
At twelve Junie got double pneumonia which ultimately gave her a thyroid problem and a
Pituitary gland problem. Her mother had a special place in her heart for her little girl with
so many health problems . Through it all Junie lived up to her nick name her Grandfather
Gave to her “Blythe Spirit?.It meant happy spirited.Junie loved to laugh and make others laugh
Junie was an excellent seamstress and should have become a fashion designer.Junie could lay material on the floor with no pattern and just start cutting .Junie could design and make just about anything from coats purses hats, costumes and beautiful wearing apparel .
Junie was creative, gifted and talented in so many ways that it is impossible to do her justice
In such a short space.A published poet and writer with a deep sensitivity but never losing
Her childlike whimsical attitude. Junie was always a friend to those in need, giving sharing and
Caring for those who needed a helping hand.
She held a wide variety of jobs from office, managerial, (even managing a gun shop),employed as a civil servant and as a teacher and even started her own business from time to time. Junie had a great love for animals, dogs, cats, and horses and you name it she did it. Junie worked in a variety of animal shelters. Junie was not afraid to try something new, determined and motivated.
Her mother was amazed at her 4??daughter who for her first job had to undergo emergency rescue training and was lowered out of one of the tallest buildings in Toronto. Junie had many challenges in life and she faced them squarely with Blythe Spirit and met them head on right to the end.
Junie became the pioneer in the family, when Junie moved to Vancouver from Toronto in the 1960’s. We were all amazed when she boarded the Transcontinental Jet and headed for Vancouver. Junie wrote about Stanley Park and the Rocky Mountains and the beautiful weather. Eventually her whole family one at a time made the move from Toronto to Vancouver. Junie changed the course of events for her entire family.
She lived in the city for half of her life but Junie was a country girl at heart.
Junie met her wonderful husband Don in B.C. and they were happily married for 31 years. They moved from the city to the country where Junie spent many treasured years with Don. Junie loved to garden, to write and come up with creative ways to improve her surroundings and those of others around her.
