THANKING MOM
~By Monique Nicole Fox~

I give thanks for mothers
my own and all others

I give thanks for my mom
she is the best; she is the bomb

I give thanks for my mummy
I give thanks for carrying me in her tummy
I give thanks for her hugs and comfort when I felt crummy
I give thanks for wonderful nourishing meals so yummy
I give thanks for help with my homework when I felt like a dummy

I give thanks for maw
I give thanks to her with a kiss on her cheek, a kiss on her jaw

~Isaiah 66:13~
As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you.

A FRUITFUL MOM
~By Monique Nicole Fox~

My mom was fruitful
She had me and she had Jamal
We both grew up strong and tall
She gave us love, she gave us her all
She fixed our wounds when we did fall
She took us school shopping at the mall
She bought me a black angel doll
She bought my brother all kinds of balls
She helped us out when life threw us a curveball
She is wonderful; she is an "A+" overall

~Ezekiel 19:10~
Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was
fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.

==============================================

HONOR THY MOTHER
~By Monique Nicole Fox~

Mom, I honor you
I promise today
Mom, I honor you
I promise always
Mom, I honor you
I promise okay
Mom, I honor you
I promise on the 13th of May
Mom, I honor you
I promise no matter the occasion, no matter the day
Mom, I honor you
I promise to love, honor, and obey
Mom, I honor you
I promise, give thanks, and pray

~Mark 10:19 & Matthew 19:19 & Matthew 15:4~
Honour thy father and mother.

MOTHER MAY I
~By Monique Nicole Fox~

Mother May I
be glad
that you met dad
and producing the 2 children you had

Mother May I
be grateful
for the genes that made
me beautiful

Mother May I
be loved
by you and
God above

To Mom
By Valerie Strawmier
http://www.poetryoftoday.com/poems/readpoet.php?poem=323

The deer in the meadows, the clouds in the sky,
The flowers on the hilltop, are like you and I,
We're all God's creation, the apples of His eye,
To serve Him and praise Him, all our lives 'til we die,
Though this purpose seems constant for a minute or two,
It's really quite special; if you think, for a second or two,
For God only chooses a few at a time,
You're one of the lucky ones, you have no reason to cry,
Your life is planned carefully, right down to your hair,
All we have to do is learn that God's here to care,
So don't worry or fear about your life's route,
'Cause God really loves you, and your daughter does too!

LETTER TO MOMMA
By [email protected]
http://www.geocities.com/radio960

I love you Momma
And there's no doubt
You, I cannot live without
You've always been there wrong or right
I remember well your kiss goodnight
Your gentle hand on my fevered brow
Your answer to my every why or how
How do birds fly?
And why did Grandpa have to die?
Momma, how do you get to heaven?
And why don't 3 + 3 = 7?
To raise me right, God knows you tried
And many times I know you cried
When your words of advice, I pushed aside
Many mistakes, I know I've made
When you, Momma, I disobeyed
But as I got older and times got harder
You became so much smarter
Many times your hearts been broken
By careless words that were spoken
I'm sorry Momma, but some were mine
Forgive me for the times I've been unkind
Now you're older and weak in heart
And I know someday we'll have to part
When the time comes
When the Lord calls you home
Don't worry about me Momma, I'll be strong
Not on my own strength, will I stand
Nor will I lean on any man
If you've taught me anything
And you've taught me a lot
There's only One I can depend on
And His name is God
So, it's on Him that I wil lean
And to His hand, I will cling
There's one more thing
Before I put this to rest
When God handed out mothers
Momma, He gave me the best

~Jude 2 NASV~
May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.

GOD'S GIFT
By Melanie Reid
http://www.theholidayspot.com/mothersday/more_poems3.htm

My Mother is a special gift,
A special gift that God gave to me.
I'd be lost and lonely without her,
If God took her away you see.
I love her so very much,
That I couldn't bear to live without her healing touch.
Thank-you God for giving me such a loving Mother,
For I wouldn't want to be a part of no other.

A MOTHER's LOVE
by Jill Lemming
http://www.theholidayspot.com/mothersday/poems_and_poetry.htm

There is no love, like a mother's love,
no stronger bond on earth...
like the precious bond that comes from God,
to a mother, when she gives birth.

A mother's love is forever strong,
never changing for all time...
and when her children need her most,
a mother's love will shine.

God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one...
for all the tears and heartache,
and for the special work they've done.

When her days on earth are over,
a mother's love lives on...
through many generations,
with God's blessings on each one.

Be thankful for our mothers,
for they love with a higher love...
from the power God has given,
and the strength from up above.

Mother's White Rose
by Jane F. Hutto
http://www.angelfire.com/wa2/wellspring/huttomotherswhiterose.html

When I was just a little girl
And Mother's Day drew near,
My mom would pick a big white rose
For one she'd held so dear."Now you," my mother said and smiled,
"Should have a red, red rose,
For I am here to love you, child,
Much more than you might know."But now when Mother's Day comes 'round
I wipe away my tears
And search for just the right white rose--
Since Mom's been gone for years.

A Poem For Mothers Day
by Latorial Faison
http://www.geocities.com/FaisonOnline

Today I celebrate your motherhood
your existence and your grace
I see in you the love of God
His beauty is upon your face.

For the things that you have taught
to learn, to love and to forgive
I celebrate your life today
I know that it is His will.

Today I celebrate history
for you have come far beyond the years
I treasure moments we've shared
I hold dear your silent tears.

Your strength I find amazing
I honor your will to endure
"Who can find a virtuous woman . . . "
a woman of integrity, a woman so pure.

Today I celebrate your womanhood
one of God's finest creations.
You've brought forth seeds of love
families for generations.

For the happiness that you bring
for the beautiful song your soul sings
to God, for you, I pray
on this Mothers Day.

All You Wanted Me To Be
By Sharon Hemmerly
[email protected]

Simply a memory is what it must be.
I felt it was Mother that I did see.
Her presence is still as strong as then;
I wish I could see her, but know not when.

I honor your life by living mine as you taught
My life must be worth all the strife that you fought.
I want you to know how I appreciate you,
It must have been hard since it was just me and you.

God gave me a gift when he made you my Mom
Why you lovingly created a dress for the prom.
You made many sacrifices just to see
That my life was all you thought it should be.

Your life was not wasted, I've passed it along.
You daughter has given your granddaughter the song
to sing for her children and know that we three
Are all that you wanted all of us to be.

I MISS HER
by Debra Hall
[email protected]

I miss my dear mother
I do miss her light
I miss her the most
All through the dark night.

I miss my dear mother
And her smooth, soft skin
Her coarse, coal - black hair
And her sweet dimpled grin.

I miss my dear mother
Even when all is well
How I'd like to share
And all good things tell.

I miss my dear mother
When I'm in despair
And with her soft heart
I know how she'd care.

I miss my dear mother
When I shed many tears
She always did try
To calm all my fears.

I miss my dear mother
Yes, I always will
But somehow I know
She is with me still.

MY MUM
By Carol Matthews.
http://petecol.mybravenet.com/carolm_1.html#mum

I miss my Mum, she's in Heaven you see
When she went I asked God to take me
I would walk to work looking up to the sky
Longing to be with her, longing to die.

A long time has past now since she went away
Every week at Church for her I do pray
The weird thing is we don't feel apart
The reason for this is that she's in my heart.

I look forward to seeing my Mum one day
But for now with my family I want to stay
I know that she's there watching over us all
And if we need her all we have to do is call.

A MOTHER'S DAY TO REMEMBER
By Judy Luttrell
http://www2.inhis.com/Womens/poems/poem25.asp

"A Mother's Day to Remember," what kind is that?
"How do I create one?" you might ask.
The only answer for me is to say how I feel.
Make the most of each day and make it real!
A special Mother's Day is not just once a year,
But each and every day can be so very dear.
Your time together will go by so amazingly fast,
It's up to you, whether you choose to make it last.
Take a break, sit down and talk for a while,
Forget the telephone, overlook the clothes pile.
Don't wait any longer, the time is now,
You don't even need to ask yourself how;
Because our all-knowing, loving Father up above,
Gave us the innate ability to unconditionally love,
Our mothers, our children, to kiss and to hug.
So remember, Mother's Day isn't just once a year,
But each and every day can be so very dear!

TO MY MOTHER
By Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849)
http://www2.inhis.com/Womens/poems/poem63.asp

Because I feel that in the heavens above
The angels, whispering one to another,
Can find among their burning terms of love,
None so devotional as that of "Mother,"
Therefore by that dear name I have long called you,
You who are more than mother unto me,
And filled my heart of hearts, where death installed you,

In setting my Virginia's spirit free.
My mother -- my own mother, who died early,
Was but the mother of myself; but you
Are the mother to the one I loved so dearly,
And thus are dearer than the mother I knew
But that infinity with which my wife
Was dearer to my soul that its soul-life.

A MOTHER'S PRAYER
By Margaret E. Sangster
http://warriorsofchrist.com/poetry/motherpray.shtml

Father in Heaven, make me wise,
So that my gaze may never meet
A question in my children's eyes;
God keep me always kind and sweet,

And patient, too, before their need;
Let each vexation know its place,
Let gentleness be all my creed,
Let laughter live upon my face!

A mother's day is very long,
There are so many things to do!
But never let me lose my song
Before the hardest day is through.

WONDERFUL MOTHER
By Pat O'Reilly
http://www2.inhis.com/Womens/poems/poem61.asp

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,

In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

SOME MOTHER'S SON
By Vickie Lambdin
http://warriorsofchrist.com/poetry/73.shtml

He was some mother's son, some father's joy.
He worked in the woodshop, when he was only a boy.
He made Joseph proud to call Him his son.
But, He knew in his heart that his work wasn't done.

Now, as He grew older, He began preaching aloud,
In Gestheme garden, to a soul searching crowd.
He taught them that love was their greatest reward.
Yes, He was some mother's son, He was 'Jesus, Our Lord.'

Then, His Heavenly Father said, "Son, now it's time."
So, He died on the cross, for your sins and for mine.
Then, Joseph said, "Son your work here is through."
And, His Son paid the price for me and for you.

MY MOTHER
by Timothy Jon Barrett
http://www.gracebiblefellowship-tx.org/my_mother__my_mother_is_a_gift_s.htm

My Mother is a gift sent from God,
whose Love will never end.
A Love that knows no boundary lines,
this child's dearest friend.

My Mother has cried and wept for me,
when my hope was all but lost.
She will intercede, for her precious seed,
and never count the cost.

My Mother's faith is firm in God,
a find so sweet and rare.
Always praying for me to be set free,
a warrior strong in prayer.

My Mother's prayer is the reason why,
I am serving God today.
She would reel me in, I could feel within,
every time I'd go astray.

My Mother is perfect in my eyes,
and God's work still isn't done.
No one could replace that precious face,
that smiles upon her Son.

My Mother is selfless to a fault,
but I'm glad that fault is mine.
Always kneeling to pray when I lost my way,
as a lighthouse she would shine.

My Mother is one of a kind, you see,
though my bias may be clear.
Nothing can compare to the Love we share,
and the bond that brought us near.

My Mother will never fully know,
how much she is adored.
My debt is grand, for her Godly stand,
and her service to the Lord.

My Mother will hear from God one day,
Dear Lola, you have won.
Your prayers I heard, with your spoken word,
please save my Timmy Jon.

My Mother will be so proud to see,
her son arrayed in white.
Her answered prayer, just standing there,
and precious in His sight.

MOTHER
Dedicated to Mary Bayless
By Patricia A. Bayless Behnken
[email protected]

Mother, what would I ever do without you,
As long as I recall, you've been there for me;
You've never waited till I called to you,
But you've watched and known what I need.

You encouraged me in all that I did,
You were gentle and kind, when I was small,
And watched over me and picked me up
Every time that you saw me fall.

I was sick and took lots of your time,
But I don't remember your first complaint
You always seemed to have the remedy
And your loving touch was like a saint.

You were the one who taught me to pray
And started my mind on God to think
And I prayed each night for Him to keep us
And with that prayer, off to sleep I'd sink.

When I grew older and more sickness came
You were so faithful and ever near
Your help you gave almost everyday
Your love was so precious and dear.

Today as I am older, you're still my friend
We share more than we did before
Since Jesus has come into your heart
Our fellowship has become more and more.

And then someday we have the hope
That eternity we'll together be
And together we'll share the love of God
When His blessed face we see.

If there's a reward just for good mothers,
I know that reward will be yours
For you have been faithful to all your children
And you'll surely enter Heaven's doors.

=====================
KEY THOUGHT
=====================

Mothers are so precious. They want what is best for their children. They want
others to love their children and see them in the same way they do. This
causes them to say things they shouldn't and do they things that are ill
advised. But they want good things so very much for their children that they
cannot contain themselves. Notice that Jesus does not deal harshly with her.
In fact, he
recognizes that the question may even arise from within the hearts of
her two sons. Jesus' ministry is routed in the real world, the same world we
live in. Rivalry and ambition and motherly love all collide with truth and
God's will and timing. That Jesus lived in and knows our world should
be great comfort when we go to him in prayer.
http://www.heartlight.org/wjd/0921-wjd.html

Give honor to whom honor is due! This biblical principle is most certainly
true of women, and especially those who are godly mothers. Let's make sure we
praise the key women in our lives today!

Holy Father, I want to thank you for my mother today. I thank you for the way
she sacficed to give me life, blessing, hope, and faith. I ask you bless her
now and for all eternity with your love, grace, and reward. In Jesus' name I
pray. Amen.
http://www.heartlight.org/wjd/0921-wjd.html

Abba Father, thank you for knowing me before time began. Thank you for
crafting me in my mother's womb. Thank you for sending Jesus to pay the price
for my sins. And thank you in advance for the day Jesus comes to take me home
to be with you forever. Through my Conquering Savior I pray. Amen.
