+Living Life God's Way+ 11/15/2002 http://livinglifegodsway.com When the love of Christ comes into a human life it is the greatest uplifting and ennobling power of which the world has any knowledge. It brings new birth, for it brings Christ himself. For it, no sacrifice is too great, no piece of service too humble. Howard Guinness ____________________________________________ If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. John 14:23 Quiets moments, they are precious and few most of the time. Yet it is in these times, when all that would distract us, is out of the way and we can focus on God alone. As He holds us in stillness, we begin to see His face. He speaks and we are listening. We are exposed and vulnerable, yet there are no hands more capable, than those in which we have placed ourselves. His communication is sweet. His counsel is wise. His words satisfy our souls. His peace settles in, we are free, totally immersed in His love. There is no fear of tomorrow, or yesterday, or anything in His perfect love. We are safe and secure, strengthened and renewed. It is in these quiet times, we lose ourselves in God and realize what a privilege and honor to be in the presence of Almighty God. Prayer: Thank you Lord, for the quiet moments when all fades, except for your gentle voice. You strengthen and refresh my soul. You wake me from my slumber. In you presence truly nothing else matters. Amen. God Today Devotions; 9/25/2002 _________________________________________________________ Love, Fear, Control, Dependence on God ....because I live, you shall live also. In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him. John 14:19b-21 We may say, "we want to know Jesus better," but are we really willing to know Him. These verses give the requirements for knowing Jesus. Our commitment to God empowers us to keep His commandments. When our love for Him produces obedience to His commandments, then God expresses His love to us proportional to our love for him. The result of that love relationship is that Jesus discloses Himself to us. Knowing what makes Jesus tick is the Truth that empowers us to experience joy beyond our ability to explain. Actually, His revelation enters our mind only through and in the amount determined by the opening we create. Prayer: God, I need help to become willing to love. To love You and others causes me to feel vulnerable so I withdraw and stay in my defensive isolated mode. Help me release my human fear of losing control. Amen. Devotional-L; 9/18/2002
