How do we live, when all of our needs for purpose, completeness, and satisfaction have been met in Christ? The answer seems so simple. Be who we are in Christ every moment of every day. I used to think that the only things that God considered to be of any spiritual value, were the religious activities that I engaged in. But under grace, I've learned that it is in Him that I live and have my being.
    Paul says, "for me to live is Christ...." (Philippians 1:21)
    Couldn't we also say that for me to drive a truck is Christ? Or --for me to wait tables in a restaurant is Christ? For me to iron, clean and cook, do laundry and keep a home, and raise my children is Christ? For me, to get up in the morning and fight traffic on the way to the office, so I can have a paycheck to support my family with is Christ? I definitely think so. Wouldn't that give us a whole different outlook on how we look at our lives in the here and now?
    God's grace infuses, and infiltrates every nook and cranny of our lives. I can understand the concern about the possibility of believers under grace becoming lax. However, I've found life under grace is just the opposite. It's the love of Christ that is my motivating force. It restrains, compels, and moves me to act in a godly fashion in my life and towards others that I meet along the way.
    We have a responsibility as grace believers to stand fast in this liberty. We are called to grow in grace. We are led to be diligent and always be on guard against anything that would seek to draw us away from the simplicity of Christ.

    Did you know.....an estimated 500,000 tons of water rush over Niagara Falls every minute. Isn't that amazing? However, on March 29, 1948, the falls suddenly ceased flowing. People living within the sound of the falls were awakened by the deafening silence. It was an event they had never experienced in their lives. As a result, many believed it was a sign that the world was coming to an end. What happened?
    Heavy arctic winds had set the ice fields of Lake Erie in motion. Tons of ice jammed the Niagara River entrance near Buffalo and stopped the flow of the river until the ice shifted again. For over 30 hours, not one drop of water fell from the great Niagara.
    In the much the same way, the flow of God's mercy and grace can be stopped by a cold indifference in our lives. Jesus once spoke to the crowd and said, "If any man is thirsty, let him come to me and rink. He who believes in me as the Scripture said, 'from his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.'" (John 7:37-38)
    As we praise and thank God and as we live and serve others, people witness our passion, joy, and love for Christ. We let God's mercy and grace flow to us and flow through us to others. We help the flow of God's grace and mercy to others. Let's not let cold indifference, to God and to others, block this flow of mercy and grace through our lives to others.
