The Healing Of My Daughter James 5:16 Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
The following is a wonderful prayer by the Norwegian Theologian Ole Hallesby: "Lord, if it will be to Your glory, heal suddenly. If it will glorify You more, heal gradually; if it will glorify You even more, may your servant remain sick awhile; and if it will glorify Your name still more, take him to Yourself in heaven."
In all honesty, I didn't pray that way when the life of my daughter was at stake.(Smile) With that in mind, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for praying for my daughter Teri, when she was on the verge of death. God’s Word says we are to ?FONT color=#3333ff>confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.?James 5:16)
I have received almost five-hundred (500) e-mails from individuals inquiring about Teri, and it is just not possible to answer every one of them. Nonetheless, I want you to know that each and every prayer lifted on behalf of my daughter is deeply appreciated!
I have no way of knowing exactly how may individuals, from all over the world, have been praying for her, however, I do know that is exactly what we should all do for each other. I am no better than you, nor is my daughter; everyone is precious in God’s sight.
We are not to repay ?FONT color=#3333ff>evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.?1 Th 5:15-18)
What God has done for my daughter, is just an example of what He will do for you! Nothing is impossible with God. My daughter came extremely close to death, yet she is sitting behind me as I write this; God has healed her completely and she is as happy as can be.
Let me add also, God does not always answer our prayers the way we would have Him. The Apostle Paul wrote, ?FONT color=#3333ff>lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."(2 Cor 12:7-9)
Why did God chose to heal my daughter, and not the Apostle Paul? The truth is; I have no idea! Am I happy He did? Of course I am!! In Teri’s case, God healed ?FONT color=#ff0000>suddenly!?nbsp; Would I have been able to say, as the Norwegian Theologian Ole Hallesby said, ?I>if it will glorify Your name still more, take her to Yourself in heaven." I’m not sure I’ve reached that point yet!(Smile)
?FONT color=#3333ff>Finally, brethren, pray for [me], that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that [I] may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.?2 Th 3:1,2)
Try prayer; it works!
