We found out yesterday that my mother has 2 blockages. One at 100% the other at 75%. Then they found a small hole in between the two top valves that has to be repaired. Also a main vein that goes from the lung to the heart, the one that carries the oxygen to the heart, grew to the wrong place on her heart. This has been like that all her life. So next week she is going to under go heart surgery to repair all of this. She is concerned but more for my father. He is disabled with MS and can't do alot of things for himself. Please uplift her in prayer and I will keep you posted.
Up date on my mother...As of right now she has an appointment with Dr. Bashore at Duke on April 29. This will be for a consultation and discussion on what they plan to do.
But I am trusting God that nothing will have to be done.
Update on my mother. We went to Duke last week and talked with 2 doctors. A Dr. Harrison, the one that invented the device that they will use to close the hole in her heart, was the main one. They say that one test showed no hole and the other one showed a hole on the right side of her heart. They are going to call her and set up a day, hopefully next week to come back to Duke to do one more test. Then if need be they will go ahead and close the hole then. She will stay overnight and come home the next day. They showed us the device that will be used. It is amazing just how simple the device is. It looks like 2 buttons that are pulled together back to back with string. Then in time the heart grows new skin around and over the buttons. I was totally amazed by this.
