I had just received an email from a trusted friend elaborating about the wonders of dialing *77 in an emergency situation. It'd be a grand idea...if it were true! A few states have a direct link via *77 on your cell phone to their state police, but not all or even most! Do not set yourself up to relying on it unless you know with a certainty that the state you are in utilizes that service. When seconds count, you could be dialing nothing! |

Cat: I think down here it's either *77 of 'FHP.' There's signs all along I-95 and the turnpike.....the Florida turnpike...which is named the 'Ronald Reagan' turnpike! heheheh T |

Not good, Cat! They have all kinds of things down here. Last time I was out there, I saw one of those signs that flash with something to dial to report if you see people doing all that grafitti (sp) mess. Terri |

All I'm saying is it's different in different states and shouldn't be advertized as *77 works everywhere! |

It would be reasonable to assume that emergency #s would be in the local phone book, but I might be expecting too much. I helps to look I guess. |
