Late on Sunday night I had to shoot my old hunting dog, Tu.  He was having a stroke or a seizure or something like that and I thought it was the best thing to do. Lord knows I  did'nt want to do it, but I guess it was the right time.

A while ago
Me and you
Tu
Chasin wild boars
On bushy slopes
Or sittin still
With me watchin that nose of yours
Tell us which way to go

bailin hogs
With no fear
all strength
barking and holding
so I could catch up

 

After..
Tu
You would sit
with my young kids
hangin off your ears
lookin in your mouth
and never once , ever
did you growl or bite.

 

So strong and tough
yet so soft and gentle,

So, farewell old mate
gonna miss watchin you
lyin in the sun..
your paw on my leg
that bark I know so well
You were a good dog
