How are you?
Every Day I am asked "How are You?"
My response is always, "Fine, thank you "
But what I would really like to say is, "Yes ... I am O.K."

I Have My Sight ...
although not perfect, I can still see the glorious sunsets,  the antics of a puppy, the smile of a child, and the most important ...
I can see if there are any bugs in my food..

I Have My Hearing ...
even though impaired I can hear the music that takes
the wrinkles out of my day. I can hear others tell me they love me!
And every morning I can hear the snap, crackle, pop
 ..even if it is the cereal.

I Have My sense Of Smell ...
although marred with allergies I could tell if the house is on fire, or the baby needs changing. Oh and isn't it heavenly to smell that first cup of coffee in the morning ?

I Still Have My Sense Of Taste ...
I can tell when something has gone bad or sour,
even though I have to wonder about my own cooking sometimes.

I Still Have My sense Of Touch ...
even though some people say I am really touched ...
The joy of touching another, loving another,
petting your dog or cat, makes you feel you are not alone...

I am O.K. you see.
I can walk, even though I may stumble --
I can talk, sometimes without stopping --
I can laugh, even when nothing is funny --
and I can cry, when sad or even happy.....
In fact, I think I am better than just Okay!
So How are YOU?

The Pebble

Drop a pebble in the water: just a splash, and it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on,
Spreading, spreading from the center, flowing on out to the sea.
And there is no way of telling where the end is going to be.

Drop a pebble in the water: in a minute you forget,
But there's little waves a-flowing, and there's ripples circling yet,
And those little waves a-flowing to a great big wave have grown;
You've disturbed a mighty river just by dropping in a stone.

Drop an unkind or careless word: in a minute it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on.
They keep spreading, spreading, spreading from the center as they go,
And there is no way to stop them, once you've started them to flow.

Drop an unkind or careless word: in a minute you forget;
But there's little waves a-flowing, and there's ripples circling yet,
And perhaps in some sad heart a mighty wave of tears you've stirred,
And disturbed a life was happy ere you dropped that unkind word.

Drop a word of cheer and kindness: just a flash and it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on,
Bearing hope and joy and comfort on each splashing, dashing wave
Till you wouldn't believe the volume of the one kind word you gave.

Drop a word of cheer and kindness: in a minute you forget;
But there's gladness still a-swelling, and there's joy circling yet,
And you've rolled a wave of comfort whose sweet music can be heard
Over miles and miles of water just by dropping one kind word.

I Believe

As I arose this morning,
And I looked up in the sky;
The beauty it surrounded me,
And lifted me up high!

Above this fast paced life of mine,
Where I could stop to breathe.
Enjoying a little quiet time,
Taking time before I leave.

Time to look at past events,
And put them in their place.
Seeing what I've learned from them,
Walking on with much more grace.

I know how hard it is sometimes,
When these things we must go through.
I believe that there's a lesson there,
Meant for all as well as Me and You!

Priceless Gifts

1..  The gift of listening...
Try giving this to someone in need.  And you must really listen.
No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your responses.
Just listen.

2..  The gift of signs of affection...
Be generous with your hugs, kisses and gentle squeezes of the hand.
Let these tiny actions demonstrate the love inside of you.

3..  The gift of a note...
It can be as simple as "I Love You" or as creative as a sonnet.
Put your notes where they will surprise your loved ones.

4..  The gift of laughter...
Just cut out a cartoon, save a clever article.
Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."

5..  The gift of compliment...
A simple "You look good in blue" or "Good supper"
can be of greatest value to those who may feel they are being taken for
granted.

6..  The gift of a favor...
Help with the dishes, run an errand, etc.

7..  The gift of leaving alone...
There are times in our lives when we want nothing better than to be left
alone.
Become more sensitive to those times and give solitude.

8..  The gift of a cheerful disposition...
Try to be cheerful around those you love.

9..  The gift of a game...
Offer to play your loved one's favorite game.
Even if you lose, you'll be a winner.

10..  The gift of prayer or positive thoughts...
Pray for your loved ones and let them know you pray for them.
Or are simply thinking of them....

Good Morning

What a beautiful morning
Such a wonderful day
No matter what the weather is
It's perfect in every way.

Smell the freshness of morning dew
As the sun shines bright above
Makes me think of friends I know
Fills my heart with love

Birds are chirping in the trees
Happy as can be
What a lovely morning
So wonderful to see.

God is good to be so kind
And bless us in this way
My thoughts go out to you my friend
On this very special day.

To Believe

To believe is to know that every day is a new beginning.

It is to trust that miracles happen,

and dreams really do come true.

To believe is to see angels dancing among the clouds,

To know the wonder of a stardust sky

and the wisdom of the man in the moon.

    To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart,

The innocence of a child's eyes

and the beauty of an aging hand,

for it is through their teachings we learn to love.

To believe is to find the strength

and courage that lies within us.

   When it is time to pick up the pieces and begin again.

To believe is to know we are not alone,

That life is a gift and this is our time to cherish it.

To believe is to know that wonderful surprises

are just waiting to happen,

And all our hopes and dreams are within reach.

If only we believe.
