Thanks Munchkin!

I like the chart of KivasKrew.  Venus is in the 1st house and that's a really charming and wonderful place to have Venus if you want people to get along and like each other.  Venus in the 1st house also appeals to other people -- if you had this in your own chart, you would be considerd a charming person.  So this Message Group is considered a nice place to be.  Also, since Jupiter is in the 10th house, this makes us popular!  Venus rules Libra and Libra is our Rising Sign, which adds even MORE to our excellent abilities for social interactions.

Of course, there's always more to a chart than that, but there's no point in over-analyzing this!   I was just curious to see the chart and, overall, I think it's a good chart for social interaction.

JdJg -- in order to do a chart, an astrologer needs:  Month-Day-Year, City, State, Time of Birth (a.m. or p.m.).  However, as you can imagine, if I were to do readings for everyone on this board, I'd be cross-eyed.  (Actually, I don't do readings anymore.)  I'm taking down birthdays just out of curiosity, and if I see anything interesting, I might mention it.

No prob - is there an "Astrology for those who are sort of interested but don't have too much free time" book or website out there?  Ha ha.  Thanks for the info - I really just wanted to know what all those things (state, etc.) correlated to in the moon rising, etc. context!

I finally have a few free hours, and I am trying to pack in whatever I can...

jdjgwl -- You know, actually, there is a book that might fit that description.  I read it when I was a teenager and it got me very interested in astrology.  It's called Write Your Own Horoscope by Joseph B. Goodavage.  He has the planetary placements in the back of the book, so you can look things up.  It's a paperback book.  Unfortunately, when I looked it up on amazon.com, they say it's out of print.  However, you can buy a used copy (very cheap in fact), either from www.amazon.com or from www.half.com.

Are there any other Desert Rats around besides lilMunchkin and me?  What is Queen Creek, Arizona close to?
Y'know, it's kinda nice coming from such a recognizable city....I can go anywhere, and simply say I"m from Las Vegas and people immediately ask me if I deal cards.  Now, while the question may be a bit old, tired, worn. beaten to death....it means they know the place I'm talking about.
People from Las Vegas, New Mexico have to actually say which state...<insert smirk here>.

Diane Zee:  Thankyou for doing the astrological chart.  It was very interesting and seems to bode well for the success of our Krew!

jdjgwl, if you go to www.iVillage.com you can click on the astrology section and learn lots of interesting info.  Also they will do a free chart for you.  It helps if you know the time of your birth.

HI Everyone!
I guess I'll jump in here for the first time!
What a hoot! It's a surprising journey to be interested in a pop culture program, become obessed enough to join a message board and then become attached enough to the members of one thread to follow them to their very own board. Whew, some trip!
I'm the old geezer -65. My husband and I live in a motor home and travel between Dallas, Texas and Surrey BC,Canada. At the present time, we are caretaking a farm in Surrey and will be here for the duration. It's a beautiful place with swans, geese, ducks, llamas, horses and ten acres of park like setting.
My husband is a dual citizen and I will be one soon as well.
I have two dogs and am active in dog agility and hospital visits with my sweet little male Shih-tzu, Dexter.
I chose Sambuca because I couldn't think of a nickname and saw it listed as a flavor of sorbet at my favorite ice cream store!
Glad to be among so many fun people!

Hi Sambuca, I'm glad you joined your group!  I lived in Vancouver for several years, and know Surrey well.  It is a beautiful place.  I get regular emails from two friends in Surrey (I'm now in Winnipeg, where I was born) so I know you've had a beautiful summer there.  Talk to you soon.

HI augustleo,
Saw your post on the Getting to Know you Board!
We are in South Surrey, near Cloverdale and it is a beautiful rural area. The weather has been HOt all Summer but we will miss it in a month or two. My husband was born in Winnipeg and used to say he and his family went to North Dakota in the Winter to warm up. LOL!!!

Hi everybody!  Took me forever to get through all the posts!  What a great group we are!!

I only have computer at work and so have limited time to respond and check in - but here goes....a little about me:

My name is Cindy - I'm 46 (1/26/56) born in Greenfield, Indiana.  I now live quite a ways north of there near Michigan, but still in Indiana.  I have two daughters - one is a senior a Ball State the other an eighth grader.  I am recently divorced (April) after 26 years of marriage and 30 years with the same man.  Tell me how to fill the hole!!

I am a customer service rep in the medical insurance dept of a major corporation in our area.

I am soooooo identifying with Diane Zee!!!  I too am not tied to a particular religion but try to embrace a universal belonging.  I agree that there is so much more than just death and I'm so happy to converse with someone else on this issue.  Eveyone around here thinks I'm a nut so I don't discuss it much.

I also need to diet and I'm really enjoying the support and tips!  Thanks guys!!

Diane Zee---Sorry it took so long to respond.  Let me first say that I love your knowledge regarding astrology.  (By the way, I'm Aug 27, 1963 1:43 a.m.!!)  The only thing I remember about Virgo's (that's me) is that they don't like change....and I don't.  I got a little freaky when "our" AI thread went to the harsh posters for a while.  Even good change can be hard for me.  It took me 8 months to decide on which kind of new car I wanted!!

Anyway, I do think of myself as a self starter but mostly just a people person, (although some days it really is a flaw but both are needed in my job!) I tend to take care of things myself rather than delegate. (Mac'sMom yells at me about that all the time!)

I have been a part of other boards, mostly just for my 2 soap operas I watch (my little secret revealed!) but I find the people there can be extremly harsh and not afraid to rip your head off and stomp on it, so I mostly lurk instead.

With my job in finance, most days I deal with more than 50 people a day---50 people and their money.  (Note to self....not a good combination)    That put's me at a very fast pace with the brain in overdrive, dealing with a lot of people I've never met before!  So, I've learned the fine art of having an entire conversation with someone I've just met and putting them at ease.  I love watching people's facial expressions and gestures, they sometimes say more than the words do!  People are interesting to me.  We are all the same, but yet so entirely different.  All different chapters in a book.

Sambuca:  I know the Cloverdale area.  My two friends are split between there....one further down on King George Highway, and the other is in White Rock.  My Dad (71) lives on the North Shore, near Lonsdale, and has a beautiful view of the inlet, downtown, etc.  I grew up in Canyon Heights area, near the dam.  Miss it, miss it, miss it!  We moved back to Winnipeg then I later went back to VCR.  I swear my skin, hair, and nails have never been better than when I lived by the ocean.
What part of Winnipeg is your husband from?  From the ages of 7 and on I lived in Riverview.  Now, this is a person that I don't have to explain "socials" to.    LOL
