Cindylouhoo, My dad was abusive at times. Called it spankings, but it was a lot of belt whippings. Most of the time I think he was mad at my mom and took it out on us if we gave him the least bit excuse.
Mostly though he would take off on pay day and be gone the whole weekend in the bars. He didn't come home until after work on Monday and be broke. Wait a minute...this is supposed to be FONDEST memories. I got off track didn't I? I use to like to pretend to be sick so I could stay home from school with Mom when she had the day off. She worked nights so on school days we didn't get to spend much time with her. I think she was on to me most of the time and we'd take off and go for a ride, get something to eat etc. She was a very warm person and everyone liked her. I still miss her after 24 yrs. |
