I forgot to mention that I saw Good Night and Good Luck -- which is about Edward R. Murrow and his "fight" with Senator Joe McCarthy.  I HIGHLY recommend this film.  I knew relatively nothing about Edward R. Murrow and I was impressed with what I saw.  The man was truly a poet.  If you enjoy political style films, period pieces and excellent acting, this is the film for you.
