OK,
This isn't in the weird and otherworldly category, more like good strange.
Last year I had to have cataract surgery in both eyes - My vision was down about 50% in both eyes. My husband and I are in Surrey, BC planning on going back to Dallas and have an HMO doc do the surgery. The problem was how to pick a good opthlalmologist from 3000 miles away. ONe that I could trust with my only two little orbs. Well, I went to the website of the HMO and looked at the long long list. Near the top I noted a woman doc and thought that was a neat thing but did not write her name down. I just got discouraged about the number of docs and how to go about chosing. It was August and I had to pick one I could see in November in order to have the surgeries completed by Spring- when we would return to Surrey.
I gave up for that day. Next day I am surfing through DISH network trying to find a program that would hold my attention, and, I saw that the Discovery Health Channel had their "Operation" program on. Not one of my first 100 choices. Then I thought- wouldn't it be funny if they had an eye operation on? I dismissed the thought and kept surfing but a nagging pull kept interfering. What if there was an eye operation on?
So, I gave in and went back.
The program had an older lady talking about her eyes and her doctor. Her conversation included some references to some Dallas landmarks. I perked up.
Well, It was the same doctor I had noted the day before! The program showed her going through a complete complicated eye operation from start to finish!!!!
WHat better way to chose the right doctor.
The next day, I called her office, found out she was still taking patients from my HMO and made an appointment.
The results? She was great! I now can see like a 20 year old (except for small type).
I can't belive how it all happened. Talk about destiny!
