Brent -- I don't know if this will get to you, but I'll give it a shot anyway.

 

My brother's 50th birthday is coming up at the end of July and I told my sister-in-law that I wanted to buy him a digital camera for his birthday, but that I wanted to spend no more than $300.

 

She asked some "experts" at her job and they insisted that to get the BEST camera, one must have 5MPs so that's what she thinks I should buy (I couldn't seem to convince her otherwise).  They also know that my brother is an artist -- also a graphic artist, who uses a Mac -- and so they mentioned that Canon and Olympus were two good brands to use with PhotoShop (at least that's what I think they said).  Soooooo... anyway.... they're recommending either Canon or Olympus and I think my SIL has her heart set on a Canon Powershot camera and I was wondering what you thought was the best Canon Powershot with 5 Megapixels.  Any recommendations?  I'd like it to be $300 or under.
