|  Lucky wandered down the street, adjusting his cowboy hat to keep the rain off. Since his release from rehab and prison, he had just fallen right off the wagon again. Was it that Minx was just that persuasive or was it that he just generally didn't belong clean. How could he be called the King of the LA party scene and not live up to it? Maybe it had just taken her reassurance that he needed it. One pit stop down. The other- Shadow. Things he'd heard from the streets were indicating he had returned to that side of life- Bloods Ace. He wasn't a huge fan of theirs, but for the sake of hanging out with Shadow he tolerated them- or even back in the days, he tolerated their presence to see Minx and Natas. When they had jumped the Valkos, he'd taken a step back from them, like a bad omen.
He threw open the doors of Deja Vu, like he had some sort of athority, breezing past the bouncers who knew him, waving. He tipped his hat at them and made his way up to the VIP room. Like always, it was filled with girls, dancing and entertaining Spyder and Ziggy. Am had herself planted on the couch, doing up drugs and getting herself wasted on endless shots. Then his eyes fell on a dark figure curled up in the corner away from the action like always. River was seated close to him as always and he had to laugh. "Some fucking party." he said over the music.
Shadow's eyes snapped up to the figure standing in the doorway. "Lucky!" he almost jumped out of his seat, excited to see his best friend standing there. "Shadow!" Lucky chuckled, grabbing him for a guy hug. "Good to see you man!" he released him, looking around the room as he felt the rest of the eyes staring at him. "Well, hello to you assholes too." he winked. "Looks like nothing's changed." "Hey Lucky." Spyder smirked as he looked up from where he sat with Meadow, working on her neck, his hands running up her thighs. "So what's been up man?" he turned back to Shadow.
A short while and a few drinks later, Lucky felt himself get restless and he could tell Shadow was too. Neither of them liked to be cooped up with nothing to do. He sighed and stood up from his seat, looking down at the group as he grabbed Shadow's arm. "While this short visit has been fun, I gotta bounce. This is too calm for my blood. And I'm taking him with me. I know he's bored too. See you all later." He waved at the bunch, but they paid no attention as they exited.
"Fuck Shadow- why do you hang out with those losers?" he chuckled as they stopped outside a black vyper parked in the back. He frowned, looking over it as Shadow pulled the drivers side door open, looking in the ignition. "Woah. This can't be yours. Last I remember, you drove a jeep. Who's is this?" Lucky raised an eyebrow. "I dunno...but they left the keys. Get in."
He didn't have to be asked twice as he opened the passenger door, sliding into the seat, barely getting his leg in before Shadow tore off down the street. "Damn boy, you sure grew up. Stealing cars now." he chuckled, grabbing a joint from his pocket. "You missed a lot, Lucky." Shadow shrugged as he placed a cigarette in his lips. "Apparently. I thought you were clean, or at least trying to be." Lucky took a toke off the joint. "Well- I failed. You know me. I suck at life."
Lucky could only laugh as he nodded, rolling down the window. They had to be going at least 90 down the streets but Shadow's driving was still controlled. Smooth as vodka. "So I heard you fucked Walt's bitch." Lucky said after a few blocks of silence, leaning back in the passenger seat as they ripped through town. Shadow glanced over at him, shaking his head. "Who hasn't?" he shrugged. "You aren't so innocent yourself." "Yeah, but I wasn't in a relationship." "Hey fuck you. You don't know what went down, you weren't there. She was an accident and thats where I leave it. I'm aware I fucked up. Don't you think I've regretted that every waking moment I have? Why do you have to be a fucking downer on this 'party' you wanted to go on?" he snapped, gripping the wheel so tight his knuckles were going white. "I don't need to be reminded anymore. I've been trying to forget her and the girl I was 'with'. Fuck..." "Dude, Shadow- chill. I'm just curious. It's all good. She didn't give you any STD, so you're ok. Let's just go get shit faced." Shadow took a hard drag off his cigarette, flipping the stereo on, the car suddenly filling with the sounds of a boy band. The beat was poppy and Shadow and Lucky both went for the cd player as fast as they could. 
"What the fuck was that?" Shadow asked as Lucky looked down at the cd he had just ripped from the player. "Something called B4-4." Lucky shuddered, looking the disc over. "Fuck...turn the radio on." he still shuddered as the pop-tart beat still rang in his head. Finally the sounds of Metallica's 'Master of Puppets' from the local metal station filled their ears, Lucky taking his lighter to the bottom of the CD, torching it before he tossed it out the window.
The hours flew by as they tore up the town, getting plastered as they felt. Shadow's driving was becoming more unsteady as Lucky kept passing him the bottle of Bacardi 151 he had brought. A flash of red and blue lights caught their attention and Lucky turned in his seat. "Oh shit. It's the pigs." he said, a slight panic in his tone. "Step on it!"
As the words left his lips the car jolted a bit and they were screaming down the streets, the cops still on their asses. "Damn it!" Lucky tried to sit still, but the adrenaline was kicking in and he grabbed the wheel, turning it hard. Before either had time to react the car skidded, crashing hard into the side of a building. "Dammit Lucky!" Shadow growled as he pulled himself out of the wreckage. "What the fuck?" "They were on our asses." Lucky replied, leaning against the side of the building, his eyes widening as the cop car skidded around the corner. "Shit!" they both shouted, taking off running into the alley. Lucky stopped suddenly, running back to the car and grabbing the bottle of Bacardi, shoving it into his jeans. "Lucky there's no time!" He heard as he took off back into the alley. They could vaguely hear the police screaming for them to stop, gunshots echoing. "Up here." Shadow commanded, grabbing hold of the fire exit railings that ran up the side of the building. As fast as they could go in their drunken state they climbed up the fire exit, onto the top of the building. "Shit! We're fucking trapped!" Lucky looked around. They could hear the police coming up after them. "I'm not fucking going back to jail man! I can't! I hate rehab!"
Shadow looked around wildly, his eyes falling on the edge. "There's only one way out man." he walked over, looking down at the ocean below. "Freeze mother fuckers!" a cop said. They glanced back at them and then at each other. "It's now or never man." Shadow sighed. "Get on the ground!" the cop screamed, pointing his gun at them. "I say now!" Lucky grabbed Shadow's arm and they jumped, heading for the water.
