Becoming a Priest/ess

What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word "PRISTESS"?
Write it down now before you read further.

We are going to "Take a deeper look at what it means to be in 2nd degree.

Now I would like to ask you what you feel 2nd degree means. Does it mean having more responsibility ...Suddenly realizing that you have a bigger responsibility in the coven? .

As a Priestess , you have many more things to be responsible for...Remember this: Calling oneself a "Witch" or a "Priest/ess" does not make us this...just as heredity itself ...or the collecting of titles and initiation. None of that matters if we are not living it. We must seek to control the forces within us that make life possible to live wisely and well...without harm to others, and in harmony with Nature. Remember that you set a standerd to those that are just starting out...it is our responsiblity to live and be a light.

We at times are a spiritual center to ones we council. We must stand for what others see in us...to accept the roll the Goddess is presenting to us is not a thing to take for granted. We cannot be children, we have to be what our station demands from us. I say this because we all tend to keep that part of us too hidden at times. Some things you will want to really start doing is examining your DAILY practice.

As a Priestess, you walk daily in the path of your teaching. If you do not live the way you talk..it will show. By doing this, you will be able to fine tune all points of your path.

Lets look at an average day...When you wake up, what is the first thing you do? Write down your answer to this question and then read on.

What if you woke up and there was no computer...no mundane things...would your mind go to the Goddess and your walk? ...or would it be to things that are of no real sonsequence...like a fetish or a habit?  Some say.."I cannot breathe until I have my four cups of expresso.  What do you actually do when you first wake up?

Do you live your spiritual path only on the computer? Think about this in true terms and really understand what I am saying.

When is the first time in your day that you bring the Goddess into it?  Is it at the beginning..middle..endof your day.....or not everyday...possibly only when you have a problem...

The truth is, you need to center and start your day as a Priestess to know that you grasp that, is part of what you practice. Do you feel you are a computer-only priestess or are you one 24 hours a day?

In any path...we must look deeper at what we actually believe..is it only something that is just for certain times around certain people..or do we practice all the time...we develop an awareness that we did not have when we were new to this path.  To make a promise to the Goddess to serve Her as her daughter and represntitive in this life, you need t evaluate just what you actually do.

Do you do ritual on your own...or do you need another to lead? This is part of deeper learning also. You must know how to do as well as be able to lead another in ritual..this is part of our path as a Priestess.

Before long you will start to be as comfortable with ritual as you feel taking a drink of water..it should become natural for you.

When you think of healing...what comes to you first...is it to go to the medicine cabinet for an asprin or do you reach for a witchy remedy...for a headache , for example. It is always nice to use the fancy stuff...but we need to know that we have natural solutions to everything.

If we practice our path daily ...24 hours...it will become normal to see things as a Priestess rather than mundane...if we are claiming we are "in 2nd Degree" then we should be acting like it...doing it...living it. This is a very serious degree as it is reaching deep within ourselves to see perminant change.

You make your ideals REAL by your actions as you change the focus of your energy you'll begin to see the energy of everything around you begin to change, and the more you claim yourself to be a Priestess...the more you will natually emit that bit of extra to all around you...it is important that you look at yourself and your daily actions and correct... center... meditate... and generally fix any area that is not showing this positive aspect of you.

By the time you initiate into the 2nd degree Priest/esshood, you will think like a high priest/ess..be able to initiate...write and perform ritual...council many and much more, so I will let you really think about this and how you realy should expect this change in your whole being...this is a great expectaion...

Sooo... that is what 2nd degree is...an inner journey to guide an outer result.

You have special attributes to give to those that are now to the path of the Wise and I truly encourage you to let them shine. It is important to listen to your inner voice and trust that voice.  Always keep yourself continually searching and never think you have learned enough. But know, too, that you are  teacher as well as a student. One thing you will do in 2nd degree is to teach others with the authority of your station. think on this...even in a grocery store..you teach someone...by your actions...your aura...your attitude. You must never let yourself be taken unaware. Keep in balance..that is why I mentioned at the beginning to Start your day as a Priestess.

After answering each question in this lesson above I would like you to write down your thoughts on this subject of what it is to be a priestess 24 hours a day. And then with this in mind I want you to be aware this week and journal your experiences.

Report on the differences of your daily routine with this new mystery revealed to you. I look forward to hearing many interesting things
