"Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye."
~ H. Jackson Browne, Jr., author of Lifes Little Instruction Book

Life is not about what most people think it is.

It isn't about "making it" through the day,

Sure, what we think as "the normal mundane" things happen..... jobs, bills, burnt suppers, banged shins, grouchy people, loused up deals, fights.
Things weren't really so different when we were kids, we had the same kinds of things happening, school, chores, soggy sandwiches in paperbags or worse, cafeteria food...skinned knees, grouchy teachers, bad report cards, fights.

We wanted to hurry up and grow up so we could get away from all that.... and look what happened.

Crap.

Each day that force of nature called "LIFE" tosses things on our path to see what we do with them.
Sometimes it's best to look at them as puzzles instead of problems... things to figure out and play with...like a kid.

We thought we would know AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL the answers when we grew up...and now we are grown up...it doesn't sit too well to find out the answers to our deepest need, to connect with the Divine is with the mindset of a child.

Even Jesus  tried to give the grownups in his day a clue:
"Whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein" (Luke 18:17). ...for of such is the kingdom of God' (Mark 10:14).

Freud refered to this mix up in terms of Id, Ego, and Super-ego, or : Child, Parent, and Self. the child knows wants and needs, the Parent knows shoulds and shouldn'ts, and the Self mediates the Child and Parent.

Many adults today are so stuck in Parent mode just to negotiate in the adult world, that they sacrifice their inner child and what it needs in order to function and the majority of them are taking Prozac, Valium, alcohol, or indulging in abuse of other pharmecuticals to deafen their ears and blind their eyes to the shouts and tears of their inner child.

Some have gone so far in denying their inner child, that that psychological blockage has created debiltating physical diseases, such as heart disease and arthritis... "old" people diseases to validate their choice to be the ultimate adult.

Only when one surrenders that blocking shield and puts it down can they see the enemy they have been fighting for so long is not immaturity and self indulgence, but enlightenment.

Enlightenment that the Self, the spark of the Divine, is that which brings harmony to both Parent and Child within, is that which accepts Divinity's guidance showing Parent and Child that they can love and care for each other, and listen to each other and learn from each other.

I think one of the reasons the Goddess gave us children is because we needed a reminder of how to see things through a child's eyes.

Widom is not the accumulation of lifes experiences, but the ability to see those experiences for what they really are, at a basic level.
That is true Magick. and as most adults will tell you... "only children believe in Magic".

With the viewpoint of a child you are more open to notice the subtle magick all around you. Everything from the awe of watching a butterfly emerging from a chrysallis to the breaking light spectrum of light in a drop of water.
The advantage of learning experiences of an adult you understand the science of such events that can either enhance the wonder or discount it.

The Advantage of allowing the enlighten Self to balance the two brings the realization of the experience being one designed by a higher power.
Thereforer becoming more able to recognizre the nuances of Divinity, and It's personality.

Your assignment:
To experience your week in observation of your normal routine and document the two mindsets of Parent and Child in your perception of those events and then Summarize how your Self played a role in bringing it all into enlightened balance.
