Clay Runes
  • 3 or 4 pks Fimo or Sculpey clay (any color, white works best)
  • paint (any color) toothpicks
  • a sheet of the rune symbols
  • an oven

To make your runes, each block of Fimo or Sculpey comes quartered.  One half of each quarter will make one rune the perfect size. Shape the clay into squares about 1/4 thick. Inscribe the rune symbols on them with a toothpick. If you want to, fill the indentations in with the paint. Bake them in an oven according to the clay package directions. Sew a cloth bag with a ribbon on it and use it to store the runes in. These have tremendous energy, and have many uses!!!!

Alternatively.

  • Find small smooth round rocks and paint the rune symbols on them.
  • Cut square or round* shapes from wood, smooth the wood by sanding  with sand paper and carve or paint the rune symbols onto them.
    • You could try using a woodburning tool to burn the rune symbols into the wood (be careful!). When you are done you could paint them with a clear varnish or rub a beeswax and lanolin solution into them for a lovely soft and natural look.
