I'm not sure whether I could be starting the menopause  My last period was on 18th July 06 and I haven't seen anything since not even spotting .I'm not having night sweats or anything like that but I do feel myself feeling very low at times .My diet hasn't changed and I've not been on any diet so it can't be that .Up until July I was as regular as clockwork ( every 28 days ) it just seems very strange that my perids have stopped .I plan to visit the doctor soon as its been 3 months and see what he thinks .

Thanks all for your responses .I started a period a few days ago .My next step is to book a smear test ( oh the joys of being a woman ) and will tell the nurse whats been happening and I'm sure she will tell me what to do next if anything .I did do a pregnancy test a couple of months ago sweet just to put my mind at rest and that was negative .

Hi Yvette,
At least you know you are not pregant lol.
It sounds like you could be on the start of the menopause, my periods went away for a few months t , then i had a few more and then they stopped again and were on and off for a few months  and then for two years runing I had one only, once a year and now thank heavens all gone yipeeeee and sure do not miss them.
Having said that I agree with the others go and get checked out by the doctor!!! that's a MUST.
Also if you have had some stress in your life this could cause your  periods to stop temporarily.

Have a look at this Yvete it may help you  understand the why and hows of the menopause >>
Love MJ x

Ermmmmmm what tests Sweet lol

I don't feel the need to have any tests just now Sweet although my monthlys now are very few and far between its been about 5 months now since my last one but apart from that have had no ill effects apart from tiredness and as yet haven't had any hot flushes etc ,But saying that neither did my mum or her mum so hopefully I'm going to be lucky there too .
You watch now I've said that I bet I start them again now lol

pmsl and trust you to be still looking at the more obscure threads to find new comments to reply to.
Do you have a Tigs alert facility on your membership that lets you know where I have posted?

Apparently about a year or so before you go through the menopause you go through what they call the perimenopause, where your periods start to fade away etc. I went through the menopause at 24 as the chemo put me through it almost overnight....
