Hi All'
Still so sorry Ann, you didn't get to your wedding. I bought a dress, ME, a dress, for my sisters 50th birthday and it's the only one I own. So I'll be wearing that. Unfortunately I also wore it to the twins christening in January. So they've all seen it but that sort of thing doesn't bother me. It's red with white spots and it actually suits me. I haven't worn a dress since before my kids were born. Skirts sometimes but not much either. We managed to get a flight to wellington in November for $94 each, each way. You people don't know how lucky you are Tigger with your cheap flights.
Tiffany's boyfriend bought a motorbike last summer. So she's been practising on his and has her license. I'd be extremely surprised if she's already got one on hock because that's not how we do things around here but I was getting somewhat concerned about it last night in bed. I've been on at Ken to toughen up with her but not a word ahs passed his lips so far.
I went shopping this morning at bought a lovely deep purple Rhododendron and some vege plants for the garden. Yeah! I've also got about 220 photo's of Tiffany, & Tiffany & Dane being put onto DVD with music.

morning ladiesI echo Tigs words farmeress, Keep your daughter Tiffany off of a motorbike and her boyfriends too.  I have told the story of my Auntie Mollie who had just won a Miss great Britian beauty contest, she had a contract to go to "Hollywood" and just before she was due to go she was rideing with her boyfriend and the bike skidded and her leg was run over by a car that was following behind.  She was in bed for a year, She kept her leg only because my grandmother would not let the Doctors cut it off.  Auntie Mollie walked with a limp and had trouble with the wound weeping, at times, for the rest of her life.  Sorry to all who know the story, but, like Tigs said, show Tiffany those horrific photo's of Roberts leg.  It's all over so quickly, but takes so long to recover from.

Oh yes and what a cheek puting on a political debate instead of Coronation Street, just as they were giving us three a week!

Well, my new outfitt will be soooooooooo old by the time I get invited to another wedding will just have to sacrifice myself and go look for something new

Went into Wellington to-day-I got a parking ticket, just "popped" into the tailors to have a couple of skirts altered, and pick up a couple of pairs of slacks I had had taken up.  It said "loading zone" for taking goods in etc:  obviously that didn't count what I was doing Never mind I was in a hurry to get some work done and be back for Jasmine.

Have you decided what new tattoo your going to have Red? I still think you are very brave.

Hello Yvette, hope the family is well.

To everyone enjoy your day

Morning ladies
Cheap flights Farmeress? Only if you fly from Gatwick and that is 200+ miles away from here. I try when I'm shopping online to find the best price I can but usually the flight is twice the cost of the hotel.
Enjoy your trip to Wellington.  Why is it you go there and how far is it from where you live?
Sounds as if your daughter might have got a bike already...if she has I pray she stays safe and well.

Last night in clinic a couple came in and the guy had bike gear on and the Dr talked to him about how 'fun' it is to own and ride a bike. They talked for ages and I was getting quite uptight listening and had they not changed the subject I would have had to have left the room as it really got to me. Thank goodness I didn't but I was so close. I don't usually do extremes about things but I have to be honest that this situation really tries my strength at keeping things in perspective.

I'm the big bad boss/rod of iron round here when it comes to disciplining the boys and also the listening ear and advice giver as they know I mean what I say and that I usually know what I am on about so I'm a reliable sounding board and always consistent.
Wac advises on areas I'm a bit short on knowledge about, but if I say something or make a promise, the boys know I mean it, whereas Wac is wishy washy and changes his mind more than the weather!

Oh dear about the parking ticket Ann. It's so frustrating to want to do a 'quick' errand only to find you take longer to walk to and from where you have had to park than doing the errand itself.

Wac went on his mission yesterday to find James a car and find one he did. Then collected James from work and dashed back to the garage to show it to him before it closed. I am off there this morning to hopefully have a test drive as I don't want James getting a car I haven't given the once over. Wac has driven it but is less bothered than I am about standing starts and nippability (whether it's nippy or not) No good if your at a busy junction and the car needs a 10 minute start off as a car once did when I was test driving a few before I bought my first one. It had been my choice of three I had to choose from and the test drive was the decider. I'd have been so disappointed if I had bought that car, sluggish on take off doesn't even begin to describe it!

Thankfully James has most of the car money saved but we will lend him the £500 he will be short as no point getting a car loan for such a small amount. His insurance is going to cost almost as much as the car. It is approx £3,400 fully comp!!
The car is a 3 yr old Kia Picanto in silver 22,000 and immaculate inside and out. It was £7,000 new as it has some extras including alloy wheels but is now half that price, well half after Wac negotiated £500 off the price it was on the forecourt for. Wac and I have arranged for us both to go in the morning but the car only arrived in the garage yesterday so I don't want someone else to buy it before I have even had the chance to look at it so that is why I am off as soon as possible this morning to have a look.

So best go get a wriggle on and get on down there.
TTFN....

Hello ladies,
Good luck getting that car Tigs, sounds like a great deal with such low mileage.
Plane fares are outrageous indeed. It cost 1000 each for Joe and my tickets to get home. First class, but it was only a few hundred more then coach seats. That was not even round trip,  they were cheaper to buy.  God forbid we would have any checked baggage, extra costs for that.

I want the tat on my shoulder to be a little fancier Ann, if I do any more at all. Bob seems to have stopped with his tattooing, and it is  not good to get another (artist) in on someone's work, so I will wait for him to psyche up about doing them again.  I think his tat gun is not functioning properly, but it's been so long I actually forgot what the reason was.  He needs a new gun,  maybe I could check into that, and if they are not too much, maybe that could be his Christmas present.  maybe...lol, he's not exactly first on my list, if you know what I mean

Speaking of bikes,  Patty's friend Lisa is at the hospital right now waiting for her son to come out of surgery. YES he was on his bike and laid it down to almost slide under the car he rear ended. His leg is a mess, and the doctors are puting rods and pins in it now.  His knee is shattered, so I don't know how that will ever heal.  Patty heard this news and she has taken 2 zanex and is out of it.  I told Chrissy to take those pills from her as she has been quite dependant on them since Mike's accidental death.  I have been on the phone most of the morning. No sense in going to the hospital as there are plenty of people there with Lisa now. Maybe in the morning after things settle and Philip is in a room.  They expect him to be OK and all, but his leg is badly messed up and he is only in his young 20's.
These bike wrecks are really getting out of hand due to so many more people trying to save gas by using them.  I have even thought about it,  but common sense tells me NO WAY.
I would not want to be a burden on my family during my golden years.  I told Lisa that we have a sledge hammer for the bike if it is fixable.  Philip's only concern was for his Dad to get the bike home.  I can't imagine how you were able to contain yourself Tigs, at the talk between those 2 men about bikes.  KUDOS!

Parking ticket Miss Ann?  tisk tisk.  They are starting to crack down on handicap parking abusers, at least that is what the news reporter said a few days ago here. They had  survelliance video at 3 stores showing people without the handicap placards, yet using the spaces alloted for the handicaped.  I am guilty of abusing the placard as well. When Ken's Mom was alive she had 2 of them designated to her because os her knees being so arthritic, (she was wheelchair bound), but I had borrowed one for a summer while we were paying parking fees to go to work. Noone  hardly ever used those spaces, and they are free for people with placards. I used one all summer and got free parking, and did not have to carpool. SHAME on me, but I have repented.

Julie, I hope you and the children are all doing well, and your getting more comfortable.

Tim and I walked to the store yesterday. It's only a block down the street, but such a beautiful day.  Saves me from over spending if I have to carry my things home. lol

Farmeress, the rhodendron sounds beautiful. I love the big blooms they provide, good luck with it. My Mom always had peony bushes, which are beautiful blooms as well,  but they attract so many ants.  They must be planted away from the house indeed, but I have never gotten any for myself.  I had gardenias at the old place, which are so fragrant, and the bush stays nice and green year round.   Here I have some crepe myrtles and dogwoods.

Time I get moving along, must go challenge someone to a bowling match, lol.

Evening all....
Oh Red poor, poor Patty and of course Phillip. I can't believe he kept his bike after his brother was killed on is. His skin must be fairly intact or they wouldn't be putting the pins in it already. He may probably need a knee replacement? I shall keep them in my prayers.

The car shopping went well....I went to the garage and was allowed to test drive it by myself  I must have a trustworthy face, that and the fact I'd left my Cooper S on their forecourt so I was probably hardly likely to disappear with a car a sixth of the mini's worth! lol It was very nice to drive and I signed on the dotted line of our intention to purchase and left a small deposit when I'd brought it back in one piece. We hope to collect it next Tuesday, so I have booked the day off so Wac and I can pick it up and then meet James after work and he can drive it home.
Wac has sorted the insurance out, it will be £2,400 + £150 interest charge because he is spreading the cost over 10 months after an initial up front payment of £400. James is so excited he can hardly wait. Bless.

Physio was pleased with Robert's progress and wants him to try using just one crutch and keep practising his exercises. We go back in two weeks.
Robert and I went to Asda on the way back and used the disabled badge which had arrived in the post at lunchtime. (Shame on you Red!)  He had fun in the electric scooter as well, and we were quite quick only filling the scooter basket with the absolute essentials as I had to get home to make tea and then go to work.
Clinic was pleasantly busy. No sooner had I arrived than it was time to come home.

Think I shall watch Corrie now before I go to bed...off to see if I have a game of bowls to play first though.
