Hi Ladies'
I'm still about but it's taken me over an hour to catch up.
I'm very pleased for you Libabs in winning that spa pool. You and your family deserve it.
I thought I'd probably miss wishing you well for your op Ann, but I'm sure thinking of you  Oh dear it's the 12th today. Yeh! All done.
If I get time tomorrow I'll try to join Facebook. We've been busy with shearing the old girls and drenching the lambs. Only two or three days left. My vegetarian friend has sheep that are twelve years old and that is very old, they have no teeth left. We had an aeroplane here today flying on about $20,000 worth of fertiliser.
Thank you so much Tigger for your interesting stories about Malta.
Welcome to Bill.

Morning ladies
Hope all is going well with Ann.
Nice to see you Farmeress. I can't even begin to imagine just how busy you are right now.
I'm just here for a quick visit as I am having a busy day doing lots of small jobs.
Mark is due home for a visit today, I think it's just to collect some money as his loan has run out now for this semester and he still has a few weeks to go. What a time to need financial help when I have all my christmas shopping to do yet. Still, I can't see him stuck and Mark very rarely asks for financial assistance unlike Robert when he was at Uni he was on messenger almost every day!!

The wound care nurse called yesterday and said it was all healed so well Robert could probably start leaving it undressed from next week and maybe even start using a pool for exercise. I asked him if he had told the nurse about his op next week and he said he forgot! Hmm....guess he won't be using that pool just yet. Still it's good though that they think it has healed as well as it has.

Best be off again now, as I've cleaned my en suite, dressing room, bedroom and main bathroom but need to do the downstairs cloakroom (loo) before I put away my Hilda Ogden (cleaning) stuff and make some lunch.

Oooh this time last week we took the car over to Gozo..... be back later with that chapter.

Good morning (or evening) to the group. It is 00.50 am here. This is Bill, letting you know how Annette has got on today.

We left home at 6.30 am and got to the hospital at 7.00 am. Annette went into surgery at 8.15 am and came out at 11.30 am. It was a long opertation but the surgeon rang me to say all had gone well and Annette was taken into the recovery room, coming back to her hospital room at aorund 12.45 pm.

She was very groggy and all wired up to all of the usual hospital gear, coming aound at about 3.00 pm.

Her knee is very sore and has a long incision, vertival rather than across as we had thought.

Good staff, pretty heplful and all trying to do what the surgeon wants. He came in to see her this afternoon and is very particular. He knows just what he wants done and what he doesn't, so she is in good hands.

I stayed until 7.30 pm and helped her have something to eat. Although she did not really want this, we thought it would be good to help get over the anaesthetic.

She will be in hosptail until Monday at least and in bed for the next few days. They may try her with some walking in a day or so, but the surgeon will say what he wants.

As I said, all seems to have gone well for her "under the circumstances" although the pain apparently really kicks in after all of the medications from the operation fully wear off.

She is still not 100% but did ask me to pass on to you all her good wishes and to say that she hopes to be back on-line begfore too long. I am not sure how she will be able to sit at a computer to start with but we will see.

She received two huge bunches of flowers and good wishes from all of the family, who hope to have her up and dancing by New Years Eve.

Sorry I can't do all of the fancy faces and things that Annette does!

Best wishes from Annette.

Bill

Lol Bill your excused the fancy faces.
It means so very much to hear that Ann has had the op and is recovering well as expected. Without you adding here we would be wondering how things were etc.
Your right about there being no pain at the moment as Ann will still have a lot of anaesthetic in her system and is no doubt on intravenous painkillers as well as fluids. They will all be removed soon and oral meds issued instead.
As long as Ann keeps herself topped up with pain relief and isn't tempted to say she'll manage without an odd dose here and there it will ensure the pain relief is continuous and thus she will have less dicomfort and be able to do her physio.
If I remember rightly my Dad was out of bed the day after the operation and took a few steps up and down and slowly progressed to going to the toilet. Hopefully Ann will have a catheter in for a few more hours so that she doesn't have to get out of bed to visit the bathroom. They like to get patients moving about as soon as possible to ensure complications don't develop from remaining immobile too long.
Yes the incision they make is in the direction from thigh to shin as they need quite a large area to work in to remove the old knee and replace the new one. The scar will shrink considerably and in my Dad's case was very quick to heal and he only has a very slight silvery line there now.
I am so pleased Ann has now had the op and is on the road to recovery.
Please give Ann my very best wishes, a huge hug and lots of love for a successful speedy recovery.

As for sitting at the computer....I guess Ann may have to nab 'someone's' laptop. lol

Thanks again Bill your a

  Good afternoon ladies,
Thank you so much Bill, as Tigs said , we would wonder all day how Ann had come out of surgery. Glad you feel as though she is in very capable hands.  Give her a big hug for me and tell her we will miss her while she is recovering, but send our prayers and well wishes.
Your forgiven as to the funny faces, lol

Great news about Robert's leg healing properly, as we expected    I hope his new surgery does not immobolise him for much longer., although I cannot imagine him forgetting about surgery, only mentioning it to her, I suppose.

I can not imagine how busy you must be either Farmeress.  I have had my week pretty full this week,  but nothing like what your doing.
Tim's friends went back to Tennessee a few hours ago. Last night she found out her Grandfather was not doing well at all. He had gone into a diabetic coma, and still had not gotten him to come around as of this morning. He is also on kidney dialysis, so a very sick man indeed.  They expect to return next week, unless a funeral keeps them longer.

My cable/internet has been out most of the morning. Must have been some accident somewhere to knock out a pole or something. I called when I woke and found no cable tv, and the recording told me ther was a large outtage in this area. It also said it may be out until after 2, but I checked it a bit early and it was on.

A cold spell coming through the area, and although the sun is out nicely it is chilly today.  I am cooking a nice big pot of spaghetti sauce and it is smelling so good.  I think I will run up to the store and grab a loaf of french bread to make cheesy/garlic bread with.

Gabby had brough a baby squirrel carcass onto the back patio last night.  She had it perfectly gutted, just the head, skin and tail were left intact, it could have been perfectly taxidermied.  I asked her how could she, after all the food I have given her. It was only a baby. She did not seem remorseful at all.

Time I move along with my other things before a nice soak when I return form a run up to the store.
 Have a nice day,
