Hi All'
Good to hear that Annette has got the knee done.
If I could I'd add a lovely picture of flowers & chocolates for Ann but I'm not good at pics either. My father in law had his hip done approx a year ago yesterday because he was off to the surgeon for a check up. I saw that particular surgeon a few years ago when mum went private for her second knee and I was totally gobsmacked. He was the gorgeous person I have ever seen. Very smooth and collected for a surgeon. And I have never been so breath taken in my life, and I don't go around looking at people like that.
Interesting story about your hired car Tigger but I don't have a clue what it looks like. So images of the Mr Bean car entered my head. We've got a few hired cars the last few years and i was wondering what was going on the last time because Ken is usually quite a gentle driver and it he kept squealing the wheels when taking of at intersections like a teenager. After a while I realised that they'd talked him into upgrading to a bigger model. It was a black holden.
We've had a digger here today so it was nice to give the muscles a bit of a rest.
Tiffany's managed to get a three days off at Christmas and we've manged to get her a flight home. I thought it would be impossible to get one on Christmas eve by now.
My friend Karen, that we had a ladies lunch with on Sunday had three weeks in the UK in August. Her sister is over there and paid for her flight. She went to Paris for the day, the Ritz and all sorts of nice places. She's been looking after her Diabetic- Alzheimers husband for about 8-10 years now, so it was a well deserved trip.
The Kahlua truffles are quite nice. Our distrist BBQ is tomorrow night.
Gee Tigger I didn't realise the leg was still being dressed until now. It's probably not a good idea to go swimming before the operation as you'll know, you can catch the odd thing there. I got school sores/impetigo in a spa pool at a motel once.

Good morning from Bill with an update on Ann That will be my limit on those fancy face things.

Thank you all for your good wishes, which I have passed on to her. Not a very good day at all for her and she really is feeling pretty down.

The various cords etc have been taken out and she has injections and tablets for the pain which has been pretty intense. As it was the day after surgery, I had been in to see her at lunch break and after work until 7.30 but went back again tonight. I thought she would feel a bit better knowing someone was there. However, she was more worried about me and work tomorrow and driving home etc.

Everyone says this is a very painful operation so I hope things get a bit better for her soon. The surgeon has been in twice today and is keeping a firm eye on things. She had her first physiotherapy today which aslo is painful but something that must be done apparently.

She received some more flowers today so her room is looking good, plus messages from friends, including yourselves. She sends her best wishes to you all and thanks you for your kind thoughts.

Bill

Good morning all,

LOL Bill,  but once you start using (funny faces) they are addicting
Sorry to hear Ann is having so much pain. I wish I could drive up to see her. Bless her heart being worried about everything else, as we women tend to do.  MY prayers still going up for a quick recovery and now I will pray for her pain management.  Bless you Ann,  and thanks again Bill

Farmeress, you are a lucky lady to be able to bbok a pre Christmas flight. With the state of the economy here we can probably still book flights as well, but I have not checked. I want to fly out to Kansas to see my b/f Rhonda, but with 4 centers to care for it is not an easy task.  I should check about flight prices for that, maybe just a couple days would be better then none.

Your district BBQ sounds wonderful, as do the truffles.

We have been pretty lucky with the rentals we have had (cars).   Although we have only had 3-4 the past 2 years, they have been nice, clean, and fuel efficient.

The weather is very spring like today. I have the windows open.  I LOVE that fresh air in the house.
Gabby is looking so beautiful in her long winter coat.  She sneaks in nce in a while when she can, but gets booted back outside.  Breaks my heart, but I know she would have my bird in a heartbeat.  Yoshi would not settle on being caged all day either. She has a nice bed and I know she wil stay warm.

I can't believe it is this late, as I slept til noon almost. I suppose it is good I slept so late as it was after 5am when my head hit the pillow, and i watched about an hour of tv before settling down.

Have a nice evening ladies,   ,  and Bill
