Good morning Ladies' & Bill, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Red for yesterday. I spotted your birthday weeks ago and thought I wouldn't miss it, but the computer was playing up yesterday. I've made you a cake. HELP I've had a look at facebook but I don't know if I should put in my xtra.co.nz address. I don't have a .com or hotmail address and don't know how to.Bill you might know. I've also looked at my photo album in ladies. And I can see the pictures ok. Are they back now? Ann, I'm pleased it's all over and was thinking of you yesterday. Hoping that you were singing One day at a time sweet Jesus that's all I'm asking of you) I'm not religious but somedays it just starts singing in my head. It's only the stinging hail on my face and painfully cold fingertips in the bad weather days. Tiger, Thanks for the beautiful photo's the only place I've seen as good as that is Sydney in Australia. But Queenstown where Dane works is quite nice. So I'll take some pictures. We're going up there next weekend because we can't get there on his birthday. His polyech and of the year break up is on Friday night. So we want to thank the man that took his course. My cellphone takes quite good pictures and we're going to get Dane a digital camera for his birthday. He's realised that the car attachments is a bit over the top. And I'm getting a digtal camera for xmas as well. |

Good morning to the team. This is Bill reporting in on behalf of Ann. It is 00.30 and I have the words in her own hand to write to you. Not a bad day for Annette but pretty sore with the exercises she is having to do. Hopes to be home Tuesday. Anyway, here are the messages........ Tigs, the specialists where you are are rather easy on the eye. Yes, we have a couple here. However, they are quite safe - they can run faster than me now! Oh, better put Bill's dark glasses on......private. Ready.... Girls only Actually, I will share with you one of my embarrassing moments. Well....it was the second night and I was still having to use a bed pan and finding that difficult as my bladder was not complying with my commands. I pushed the bell and instead of my nurse, in walked a tall, dark, yes, handsome stranger. He then told me he was my nurse for the night, did I mind having a male nurse? I said "No, except for now. I need a woman nurse as I needed to use the bed pan. He was very good and got me a woman nurse. He was a good nurse though and very kind for the rest of the night. But I just couldn't concentrate on my ablutions if he had been holding the pan. When I told Tracy, she said "Oh Mum, He's only had three years of intensive study and it would be routine for him". I said, "I don't care.... it's not routine to me". I know you are all laughing, but there you go...and I thought I was liberated! Your back sounds pretty bad, Tigs. It must make working at your busy job quite hard. Your trip to Malta sounds magic and I love the photos. Yes I know I really have got to get a "proper" camera so I can send pictures. Still, it is probably quite lucky for you I haven't yet as I would overdo it, showing off my new prowess Glad the birthday card arrived safely, Red and Happy Birthday. Will send a belated computer one when I get home. Keeping the meds up - well as much as I can bully them into giving me! Oh, Yvette, love your Party Girl birthday card for Red. Made me feel quite frivolous. Sorry no job yet for David but fingers crossed the right one will come along soon. As.(?)... bed and super king-size. Don't think I have seen them over here. Sounds pretty good to me. Hello, Farmeress. Hope all is well with you down in the South Island. Still the weather has been good these last few days. Well, it looked good from my hospital bed. All together now......"Oh, Poor Ann!!!! LOL Today I graduated from a frame to crutches with honours!!!! Enjoy your day everyone. Those are the messages. Once again, Annette really does appreciate all your good wishes and looks forward to being able to write herself again soon. Bill |

Good morning ladies, Thank you for the beautiful cake Farmeress!! Thank you for not puting ALL the candles on it, lol (47) I had a marvelous birthday. We had a wonderful steak dinner and Joe made my birthday cake. Chocolate on chocolate, and with my reese ice cream, a perfect end to my wonderful day. I got a beautiful lamp for my bed table. I looks like a aquarium and there are many fish that swim around the "tank", it's really quite cute. I am sitting here in my new fuzzy robe, it feels so soft almost like it was cashmere. I wonder how long before Yoshi gets her beak into it Grest story about the male nurse Ann, lol. I am glad they didn't dampen your sense of humor I would have preferred a female nurse as well. Glad your getting along as planned, and was able to get around on crutches. I imagine they wouild make your armpits sore, as I have never had to use them. God Bless, and keep up the good work Thanks again Bill I am waiting for Ken to get up so we can head off to work. A bit of a chill in the air this morning but I am sure it will warm up nicely later on. Some terrible wild fires burning in California, they are massive. Hundreds of homes lost, but thankfully I have not heard of any casualties. I saw them interviewing a father who was very emotional about having to explain their loss to his austistic son who does not understand change of any kind. Oh Tigs, I could not stand for someone to attach themselves to me while I slept. I am afraid Wac would have some sore ribs in the morning, lol The dogs even wake me when they snuggle up against me or in the space between my feet. There is not much room in our bed with the 2 of them. Luckily the cat doesn't sleep there. Time I get around to motivating Ken as I already hate leaving this late. Have a nice day ladies... |

Afternoon ladies Your doing a grand job Bill, keep it up and many thanks for adding the job of printing off the daily messages to a no doubt already long list of things you have to take to Ann each time you visit. Oh Ann I can empathise exactly what you mean about needing the assistance of a female nurse. It's bad enough trying to balance on one of those things without the close proximity of a dishy man. Do they not have portable commode chairs that you could sit on and be wheeled to the loo, lift your nightie and erm... perform.... lol I had to smile about your crutches and armpits comment Red.....I presume it's the same in NZ as in the UK that they have crutches with arm rings that you put your arms through and they lightly support the crutches around the upper part of your arm. No weight bearing is involved but it's a facility that stops the crutches falling on the floor should you let go of the hand grip/support. Sounds like your doing very well Ann, so pleased to hear it. Next stage will be a stick, and the deciding test as to whether you can be discharged is the physio people have you walk up and down a few steps so that they are sure you can negotiate any stairs at home. It's so lovely that you take the time to write your responses and then get Bill to type them up in here. Are you a whizz kid on the keyboards Bill? I hope so, so that your not sat there for ages typing which is what my one finger typing hubby iwould be like. lol Red your new lamp sounds lovely and your dressing gown sounds like a mint green one I treated myself to a few weeks back. So warm and cosy to wear. Hope Yoshi doesn't take a fancy to it. Yep Yvette Wac is hot stuff in bed also, as in body heat. lol I like my own space and to be warm but not hot and sweaty like he makes it. Think I'd be tempted to put a bolster in the bed if it was wide enough! pmsl....can just imagine his face if I did. lol Love the style and colour of the bed Yvette, very nice. Are you having a memory foam mattress as well? Mine is soooooo comfortable I don't know what I'd do without it now. Although it didnt help me sleep last night. I was so tired by 1030 last night I hung on till 1130 then went to bed. But could I sleep? Could I heck! My sciatica is shooting right down the back of the whole of my left leg down to my foot. When I have been troubled with it on the right side before the pain usually ends at the knee but not this time on the other side. I should be sensible and ring in sick tomorrow as using the clutch on the car is agony, but our team is so depleted at the moment with one on holiday, one nurse post vacant anyway and the clerk due to go in hospital for a laporoscopy on Thursday would mean we would be in dire straits. I'll keep battling on and just have to take it easy at home. I didn't get up till 11am this morning as I finally managed to sleep between 4am and 8.30am and then dozed for the rest of the time. We went to a local car boot after lunch but had left it a bit late really as most stalls were packing up. I bought a couple of modern wooden chairs for £5 for the two which will be great for spare seating for dining especially on xmas day. Just need to give them a dettox down when I can bend a bit more. Now we are off to my Mum and Dad's as I haven't visited them properly over the last few weeks. Be back later and may add Thursday holiday adventures. |

Lol Tigs yep having a memory foam matteress as well . Funny you should mention your sciatica I wonder if thats what I have as for the past few weeks on odd nights I have been waking with terrible pain in my left leg it runs all the way down the leg and suppose it feels a bit like cramp .The pain eventually eases off when I walk about on it although there is a dull sort of ache . I am going to look at a Cockatoo tomorrow someone Ryan works with is selling it so will see whats hes like and let you know whether he comes home with me or not lol .I've always wanted one so we shall see . Bye for now . |

Evening girls, Oh Yvette, that is the bed I want, and in the cherry too, I am sooo jealous. ANd a cockatoo, ohhh like the one Baretta had, all white witha crest? They are very expensive here, I did see one for 600 but it was 18 years old. I think it is sad to have a pet that long and then sell it. My Mom has a cockatiel and it chatters to her in the mornings. Oh I hope you get the cockatoo, they are so cool. I hear males talk better then females. Worked all day, but I'm home for the evening and off til tomorrow evening, so kind of like day off Stopped and saw Mike's Christmas tree and it is only a foot tall. I thought I would buy ornaments for it, but it has some pre made ornaments on it already. It is quite cute, but I want a bigger one. Joe has dinner ready. The poor lad is so lost without working. Tomorrow we may go to the aquarium, as I haven't been there for a few years. I have to buy my turkey for Thanksgiving as we will be going to Patty's but I am making a fried turkey to take and I am doing the pies. I'll make some type of snack plate for while we are there before dinner is served. A veggie plate with spinach dip is a big hit, and some crackers on the side. The kids love those fruit kabobs, but I think that would ruin their appetites as they eat so many of them. Time to eat my dinner now that I have sat for a spell and relaxed. SOmetimes I am starved when I get in but we had sub sandwiches and I was still pretty full, and I brought half of my sandwich home even. I think I will tubby before settling down with my remote control for the evening, good night |
