Yes it's me, I am rattling with pain killers but the knee does not seem to know that and is giving me merry hell  Tigs how long was your dad in the "bad" pain after his opp? and when could he get a bit more on with life and "looking after the family" sort of thing.   I guess it is only one week today that I had the knee replacement done so really shouldn't complain but IT HURTS

Was so very nice to receive all your news whilst in prison OOPs sorry hospital.  Bill was quite disapointed on Monday when there was no news, I think he enjoyed taking my place and taking part with the ladies.  "Where is everyone he said" I told him as we are eleven hours in advance, at the time he went to  our post box it would be Sunday for you, that mean't a full day.  Church, cooking Sunday Roast and yourkshire puddings etc:  Sunday's are not a day off for mums, we all love our families too much and making a fuss of them and making sure they eat well and and and...( Oh we are just saints)

Jasmine  is being so good, and I hear "poor Annette's knee" every so often as she works away at one of her puzzles or at HER computer.

Simon came in at lunch time, sat on the bed and chatted, lovely how your boys still stay boys whatever age.  Tracy has been in and I got another bunch of flowers from my brother who had waited until I got home to send them, so I would have some in the bedroom.  I am a captive up here for the time being.  Still don't know how I got up those stairs, a little help from Bill, crutches, the rail and some very direct prayers for help from above

I go next Wednesday 26th to have my stiches out and for the specialist to see how I have progressed with "bending the knee" and "straightening the leg "

All the best to Robert when he goes into hospital to-morrow Tigs,   Seven months is a long time for a young lad to be couped up in bed. I will say a little prayer for him  that all goes well.

Glad you had a great birthday Red and that the card arrived on time.  Nice to know the snail post got there on time. Thought If the worst came to the worst and the card had gone astray I could have whistled for your bird to fly over and send it this way

Oh I'm going quite daft now, thats the Tramedo's I am taking two at a time now I am that desperate and Panadol's and so far just one Codine.  NO, dont worry Tigs, I haven't overdosed as this has been over 24 hours, but those Tramedo's make me unable to think properly Well, make it more difficult than normal!!

Enjoy your time up in Wellington Farmeress, the weather is being good for you so you will be able to go back down  to the South Island with a Wellington Tan

Oh Yvette I would just love one of those beds, so much room.  I will go looking and see if they have them over here, I haven't seen any but then I wasn't looking, when I eventually go out I will make  enquiries.  Hope David is successful with getting a new job soon, I am sure he will be, however just before Christmas might be a difficult time, although they could hire him to start in January, that would be good.  How is the new little grandaughter coming along,(did we estblish that it was a little girl?) or was that farmeress just guessing a couple of weeks ago

Will have to go everything is swelling, sorry if I have been an old misery guts  going on about myself, my operation BORING

Enjoy your day Ladies

Good morning ladies
So lovely to have you back with us Ann, but please pass on my thanks agin to Bill as he did a sterling job in your absence.

I can't remember properly how long my Dad had intense pain following his op but he wasn't as good as you at keeping his pain meds regular. I think for a couple of weeks after returning home he had problems with the pain at night time more than during the day. Then after that he had discomfort and problems with swollen ankles but nothing he couldn;t cope with.
After a few days of arriving home he would make the effort to go downstairs once a day for a short spell and gradually build on the time he spent downstairs.

The district nurses came out to check his wound and remove the staples and he had an outpatient appointment with the consultant six weeks after his op.
Keep up with the physio Ann as it is vital as you will obviously know to a successful recovery.

Loved the opening message and your comment about climbing trees. lol

I don't think you have been in the least bit boring...I love to hear anybody's news about anything and yours is especially interesting with regards to your knee and how you are feeling cos I can compare it to my Dad's surgery.

Thanks for your good wishes for Robert's surgery tomorrow. Had the nurse who did his pre op had her way this morning it would have been postponed!  She wanted to do swabs of the very tiny areas that are still unhealed. She asked a colleague for a second opinion and I gave my two pennorth as well. A decision was reached that the op could go ahead.
8am tomorrow and Robert will be on the day case unit, so far there are only two on the list, so hopefully he will be done and dusted and home before I have to go to work at 3pm.

Red I can't believe how awful your house visitors are being. You can't believe the brass neck of some people! I hope you get them moving on their way before too long.

Farmeress I am confused with your comment about Gijon? Think it was that, I daren't click off here to go look, did you mean Gozo?

Right been here too long, need to get other things done before my podiatry appointment this afternoon.

Welcome back Ann, we have missed you, but Bill did do a wonderful job informing us as to your progress. My thanks to him for  job well done.  I hope your pain eases up very quickly.  Bless Jasmine for her worrying over you.  Kids can be so understanding at times.  I can't beleive you ventured upstairs. I hope the trip down goes well.

Good luck to Robert. Hopefully this will be the last!  He has been laid up so long.

Yes the houseguests are annoying, but I must put forth my best face, and try to get them working and settled. (elsewhere)   I know living with other people is not easy, so I must get out of my normal routines and embrace their excitment lol
I am getting more days off work, that's a plus,  I am ready for retirement tehe, but he can't have my pay

I was hoping there would be a great sale on turkeys with the new specials coming out this week, but NOOOO.  A good price at one grocery if you spend an additional $35 you can get a turkey for .58 lb, and since I need milk, and some other things, I suppose I will shop there. THe peanut oil is outrageous considering I will only use it to fry 2 turkeys.   I hate to spend money like that for something that isn't very useful after the fact.
Next week will bring the good prices because I would have already bought my supplies since we are having Thanksgiving Saturday.  It will be nice to see Dee.

It's cold here, and we saw a few snowflakes fluttering about yesterday. Just a few, not even to notice any on the ground.  Scary, lol
My Mom has plenty and she said it is still snowing on and off.  I am glad she is retired and no longer venturing out in the winter weather.

Time I get a shower and run off to the store, I could tubby as I am in no hurry.  Ann I wish I were closer to come visit you for lunch.

Farmeress, I hope all is going well on your end of the world.

Yvette,  hows the bird coming along?  I want to see a pic of it, and what's it's name?  Info please, I have an inquiring mind about animals, you know I want one!   lol  at Red#2 Tigs, I saw that

Later girls,  take care of yourselves and have a nice day
