Hi Ladies'
I'm just back for a little while. All sounds good for Robert. You're getting arch supports like mine Tigger. My toes seem fine but my fingers are quite swollen at the joints so I suppose i should see what I should be having, to slow the Arthritis there. I have calium complex. And will be waiting to hear what they think they can do for you.
I also thought that the deep fried Turkey sounded different. Red.
We had a great time in Martinborough, well I did Ken thought it was a bit dead. They had been so busy with the wine festival at the weekend. I went to two wineries and Orlando Bloom had been there at the weekend looking very suspiciuos behind his sunhat and sunglasses. Thankfully nobody bothered him. I got a Savignon Blanc from Tirohana Estate & a dessert wine from Ata Rangi both Moari names. Then we went to the French place for dinner. We were the only ones there and I'm gld I didn't go to the popular places because I would've missed out on something very special.. I had Escargo which was wrapped in bacon with an olive and then battered, with a chardonnay wine sauce. Then for main I had another entree of Tapa's, my first time for that too. And dessert was mixed berrie compot. Ken enjoyed his meal too. He couldn't believe I was having the Escargo but I said I have to be adventurous so that I have something special to report back to you all. And amasingly it was nice.
Oh! where you in Gozo Tigger, I thought Gijon looked quite close and was sure that was the place you went to on the ferry. So you must've gone around malta to another cove I suppose.
I just can't imagine what it's like having Thanksgiving now, so close to xmas. Having the family for xmas is good but once a year is enough for a family get together plus quite a few have to fly to get here once a year. I'm not sure how you think you're going to manage with the pets that need transported when you're travelling at night.
Oh no Red! those friends do sound like trouble. I better go now.
We are off to Dane's polytechnic end of year prize giving in Cromwell then heading to Queenstown for two nights.

Morning!
Loved your news farmeress, your so much braver than me with regards to food. I'll give most things a go but snails and frogs legs are a definite no no! Mark my middle son tried both whislt on holiday in France with a friend and his family a few years ago and he made me laugh when he said when the frogs legs are cooking in the oven they stand up as they begin to cook! lol

You made me think as well about thanksgiving Farmeress I too would probably find it too much like hard work with it not being that far away from christmas because I would end up with the extended family twice at mine within a space of a few weeks! Imagine the expense and effort twice over, would be ok if other family members took their turn, but they don't.
However, you enjoy it Red it's a tradition you have been brought up with and I wish you all the best with your plans and enjoyment on the day.

Talking of enjoyment have a great prizegiving with Dane Farmeress.

Oh Red what are you like with animals, nice idea though.  I pray you don't get attached to some and they find their way to your home and not their designated ones! lol Think you should look for a small holding to own.

I'll keep you posted re my feet Farmeress, you know me I like to share. lol

Oh gosh it has been such a busy week and the early mornings combined with late nights has really took it's toll on me. I woke at 6.30am to go to the bathroom and I almost had a panic attack at the thought of if I had had to be up so early again after a late/busy evening the night before. As usual once Wac left I was wide awake and there was he saying have an easy day, stay in bed and go back to sleep - although I never can these days once I am awake, but I know I have so much to do and told him so but no offer of help was forthcoming to get the things done that need to be done to keep the house respectable! Soooo I am rebelling! The dust pushing is put on hold and my christmas shopping/wrapping, card making and other preperations are going to take priority! That is after I had had an hour in bed with our local weekly rag before I got up.

My back/leg pain has eased off slightly, but bending is still a problem and walking can be a bit painful also, but I have reduced my meds down to one of each first thing in a morning to ease the stiffness just so I can get moving.

Activities for the day are as follows:
First thing I will do is grab all the gifts I have bought so far and begin to wrap them so that I can have them available to hand out as soon as I need to in the next few weeks. What happens after that I don't know but thoughts of going out of the house to shop some more have been put on hold until tomorrow morning.

Ann I hope you are doing ok and getting plenty of rest but ensuring you do your daily physio within your limitations.
Till later ladies.....

Hello girls,

No ANn this morning, I hope your doing well lovey

LOL @ you 2 worrying about me and the animals, I also had a thought about something going wrong with the transport (someone NOT showing up) to claim their foster , and yes about my soft heart meeting one who had been abused with those deep hurtful eyes, maybe I need to reconsider all this.  When I get to talk with the woman who cooridinates it all I may have different feelings?  Yes, traveling so late at night is not very convenient for most people so I would not look to be called on too often.  We will see how it all pans out.

A brave soul indeed Farmeress, as I do not venture into strange and unusual foods, lol.  My family eats frog legs, but not I. (I've never seen them stand) I was traumatized by that very item many years ago as a young lady.  Ken and a friend of his went frog gigging and brought home a huge bucket of frogs for their night out.  WEll I slept while they murdered the poor things, but a few days later I kept hearing a lot of ribbits, so I investigated.  Seems as they only cut the frogs legs off and threw them back into the bucket on top each other to die a grisly death, I was HORRIFIED to say the least. Many had died because of the gigging ( a 4 pronged spike) poked into their tiny bodies, and some died fom being on the bottom, but there were many still alive and could not do anythng but make noises. NEVER are they allowed to gig for frogs again.  I thought the idea of frog gigging was bad enough, but that scenario was the farthest scene from my mind.  Ken has no appreciation for my love of pets/animals.  He has hit animals on the roadway just because he didn't want to slow down or swerve a bit. I do no expect someone to endanger their lives as fa as that goes,  but if you can avoid it, I think you should, not purposely hit something because you can. The last was a bunny, and he had plenty of time to slow a bit, but NO, I could even swear that he gassed it a bit as well. I was furious with him, when I saw him snicker.  Those types of things do NOT earn brownie points with me, makes me wonder how deep his synical behavior really is someitmes..WOW , all that from escargo and a few frog legs, lol

Yes, it is tough to have 2 holidays so close to each other. My only wish is for people to hold Christmas until after THanksgiving. I am so sick of going from Halloween to Christmas with decorations and such. By the time it is actually Christmas everyone is ready for it to be over instead of giving it it's full glory.   I refuse to decorate before Christmas.

Yvette, still wating for info on your new pet

Oh Tigs,  I meant to say that Joe is not looking for another job, (although I think he should )  His boss has assured him that it is temporary and he will not be out long.  I think he should just because it is a small office, and I would like to see him move on with his career. No room for any kind of advancements with his boss as it is a family business and his sons would take top priority I am sure.

TIme I get to moving about here.  It is so cold  and will continue to be all week. Into the low 20's tonight which in January weather for us.  BRRRRRR...

  Take care ladies,
