Hi Ladies'
Just call me Red, I've been to the hairdresser this morning and she gives me more red-copper highlights each time. Ken thinks its hot I suppose. From yesterday.

I’m hope you’re feeling better than that little old lady looks Ann. I’m pleased you’ve got good help Ann.

Christmas, I’ve filled out my cards & written letters for all but two. We all sound so similar. I love the homemade cards but wouldn’t buy all the things to do it myself. Maybe one day when I’m living closer to civilisation. My sister n law is into scrap booking which I’d love to do but it would be costly I feel at the moment. I’ve just found out that I’m now, having 17 for Xmas dinner. We have club sandwiches for morning & afternoon tea. Hot roast Turkey, (in the middle of summer). And, cold desserts. My brother’n law is bringing over three of his wife’s family from the Solomon Islands & they can’t speak English but probably can understand what we’re saying. I usually don’t put up any decorations till about 1st Dec. and I don’t have that much to put up. I took a couple of pictures in Queenstown and hope to show you one day soon. I’m glad you’re going to see Brisbane Libabs, how many of your family are going. We just got on a bus there late at night and headed down to the gold coast so didn’t see it at all. Now, I really don’t like the sound of frog’s legs but then I thought I’d never eat snails either. As I said I only did it so that I could report back to you all. Tomorrow I’m going to the hairdressers to get my hair dyed and cut. I get a mousy coloured base with blonde & copper red highlights. OH! OH! I’ve been reading Dawn French’s book, Dear Fatty. It’s the best. I feel like sending it to you all around the world. Just like the book of: The travelling pants. It is the perfect book for us 47-50 year olds. But I suppose Red doesn’t know her at all. You really must get it Tigger. I’ll send it by snail mail if you like. But should let Tiff read it first, I’ve dedicated to her, to read the chapter where Dawn writes to her daughter Dear Billie,

Sorry Red, you are the last person to want to hear about the lamb slaughterhouse that I saw yesterday.

Tigger, Are you on facebook, I've found Yvette & Ann. I must go now and sus out the sight some more.

No Ann we aren't having lambs stolen. It was on the news yesterday that the lambs numbers in New Zealand this year dropped to the lowest its been in 50 years. I can't remember the numbers. Wer're anticiptating getting about $20 more for each, I thought that Ken was counting his chickens before they hatch but it seems like we might actually make some money this season.

Ken is also always in the music shop or the book shop. And he found-caught Dane & I in a fudge shop in Queenstown, we were only looking but they offer free tastings and tempted me into buying some Creme Brulee' fudge.

Cellphones are to expensive to use here Red. All people do is txt unless its an emergency.

Sharyn

Morning LadiesGlad to hear your little lambs are safe Farmeress. I use my cell phone all the time, I get a lot of texts, some of which I really cannot understand with its shorthand English. I get so fraustrated it takes ages to text back, if the text is long, and so I phone the person back and say "can't understand" your text. Actually it's really only one friend in particular, think she has learn't this new language from her teeage daughter. I like Dawn French would be interesting to read her story. At the moment I have got Michael Parkinson's autobiography to read, and Barbara Walters book Audition lying on the bench. Thought I would need something to read in hospital, but the most I felt up to was magerzines!!

Glad you got that extra top Tigs, Brownie point for Wac
Well it is in the picture Red, my knee is not so obliging in the flesh I go to see the specialist to-morrow to have my stiches out. First I have to tackle the stairs here in the house, thats going to be fun

Bill comes home to-morrow evening so things should start to get back to normal, allthough the girl who is helping, Kim, really is very nice and has made things so very much easier for me with Jasmine.

Oh Red thats sad that your mum won't be able to share Christmas day with you, where will she go? We are all going down to Tracy's this year, not too many of us hopefully, and I will try to make something to take even if I have to make it standing one legged. Chirstmas is still four weeks away and that means it will be six weeks after the operation so fingers crossed as I know I'm down to making the Christmas Mince Pies. I have got my Robertsons mincemeat from my special "Cool Brittania" shop.

At least this Christmas I won't be cooking for seventeen
which happened the year before last as family and a couple of their friends came. Last year I had just had that other knee operation so we went down to Tracy's then too. Think its my turn again next year

Love you Bird Yvette, he looks very reagle. Love the looks on the dogs faces too, could just hug them. That "doggie" look gets me everytime

Better crawl back to bed, hopefully I will get a little more sleep to-night I just can't make it past two thirty. Well it's improved it was one thirty!!

Enjoy your day everyone

Morning ladies....
Re facebook Farmeress, yes I am on it and I have just had a look through Yvette and Ann's friends but your not there? Or are you not on as Sharyn? I was going to request you as a friend if I'd seen your details on there.

Cardmaking and scrapbooking are very expensive hobbies but so rewarding. I buy quite a lot of my products from online craft shops but I do enjoy a good 'browse' round the shops as well. I have the box room in our house with cupboards and shelves along two walls that are rammed jammed full of stuff. I could probably allow the whole street to make a years worth of cards and still have materials left. lol

The book sounds good Farmeress. I'm not really into biography's/ autobiopgrahy's unless it is someone I particularly like and I must admit I do like Dawn French.

Glad to hear you may make a profit on the sheep this year, you deserve to with all the hard work you put into rearing them etc.

Ooh creme brulee...love the sound of that, not sure I have ever tried it though, what is in it?

I must admit I rarely make calls on my mobile, one because the calls are expensive and two cos of the radiation. I do send texts but not that many. I am reasonably quick at texting and try not to use the shorthand unless I have more to say in the msg than the full words will allow me to say. Also if I do send a reply to someone and it really only needs a quick answer I will fill the text with other stuff just to use up the characters so I get my monies worth!

I did the same last year Ann re reading when I was in hospital as I took several books in but found I didn't feel well enough to read a proper book nor was I able to concentrate with all the activity going on around me.
omg! This exact day last year I was packing my bag and preparing to be at the hospital for 1pm. Boy am I glad I won't ever have to go through that op and recovery again! Phew!

Good luck tomorrow Ann...do you have stitches in your knee or staples? Your knee will feel a lot easier after you have had them out.

Yes it is a shame that you can't have your Mum with you at Christmas Red. Could Ken not share with Gabby and your Mum be with you.

Wac is just bringing the bedding in from the MH to air it before Friday when we brave Knaresborough. Boots is clambering all over it giving it a good sniff and trying to claw it until I shout at her to stop.lol

My Mum has just rung to say my Dad has finally seen a Dr today as his chest has been playing up and I warned him he could end up with pneumonia if he didn't get himself sorted out! Anyway Dr is sending him for an x-ray this afternoon and arranged a spirometry appoinment as well. Dad is stubborn though and although he has asthma and smoked a pipe for 25 years, 20 years ago, he was refusing to go and get checked out but then I had a 'word' with him when I saw them yesterday.

Work for me today from midday till 9pm ish. Think I am clerk today as we have no Dr this afternoon in clinic and tonight we have no clerk so my egyptian Dr will just have to make do with one of the nurses.

Best go get my shower....
