Morning LadiesWell, I have sort of sorted my Christmas card sending this year, I am doing it by "E" mail Christmas cards-then should I still not be able to"get into shops" for the "real" thing then at least I will have been able to say "Happy Christmas" to my special friends.  It has taken the heat out of Christmas card buying, still, if I do manage to "get out" and choose my own then I will send those too I don't know whether that physio got it sore but my knee has been terrible after having it, and last night I only slept a couple of hours.

I go to a private, one on one physiotherapist, thats how they do it over here.  Your Dad's physio sounds much more fun with a group of people Tigs, here, its just me and him so he just concentrates on me and what I am doing I went by Taxi, I have been given a Taxi  pin number and I just have to give it to the taxi driver and the A.C.C. pay the Taxi firm.  I have got that until the end of January, so obviously they think I am going to need it that long  I have heard that some physio can be done in a poole but no mention of that so far, just indivudal punishment

I think sometimes those physio's get above themselves, with the ground slipery it was very wise for Robert to use two crutches Tigs.  I know when I was in the hospital the different opinions of the nurses and what that said you could do and what you couldn't.  One nurse made me sit on the chair and put my foot on a peice of paper and swing my leg/knee.  The first thing the specialist said when he came in was "I don't want you to swing your leg "  Bill just looked at me as we had been telling the nurse just that.  It seems that every specialist have their own little ways of doing things and the nurses can mix up who is whose patient

Sorry Robert has taken a step back but he will soon pick up again, it must be so awful for such a young lad to have to go through so much pain and suffering.  It is now eight months, thats a long time for him, and for the family too.  I do hope you get the right lawyer who will stand no nonsense from the driver of that car, he deserves to have his licence taken away from him, and punishment for being careless.

This is for Ken, Red, hope he has a good day.  Looks like you will get more room at your place with the entainment center taken over to Patty's Red, I am going to get less space, as Bill has told Jasmine he will be putting up the Christmas tree this weekend, she loves Christmas and hanging the pretty balls and things on it.   The weather has turned quite cold her to-day, hope the good weather returns to-morrow.

Hello to everyone and hope all is going well in your corner of the world.  Take care and enjoy your day

Good morning sunshines,

Ann I will definitely pass on your birthday wishes when Ken awakes.   I had offered to work for him last night, but amazingly enough, he worked. I got a lot done here. I got all the mess cleaned up from moving the entertainment center. Swept and mopped all the floors, (but my bedroom) I got all my plants dusted and watered,  the rugs beat on the fence, lol that is fun!  Very therapeutic  There is so much more room with that huge piece of funiture gone. It was 3 massive pieces, lovely, but very overpowering in this room. Now I have an open shelf system and it looks very spacious, well more so then it did   Today I will concentrate on going shopping, I am going to spend money like Tigs, pmsl !!

A pillow with speakers,  what on earth will they think of next, ( it always scares me to actually think about it)  Some of these things these boys want,  craziness. Tim wants a dam sword.  Yes dam because that is what I think of it. No function, and at almost $200 for the one he wants. I guess he will once again be disappointed because I have NO intentions of buying that.

Ann, I don't blame you about the E cards, everyone who knows you will definitely understand.   I haven't had surgery and I am tempted, lol.   I am sorry you have so much pain, but it should be so much better by Christmas, you can dance around the tree with Jasmine.  I suppos th pool isn't s very good idea as there is such a  chance of getting infection with a wet wound.  We certainly do NOT want that

It has turned pretty cold here this morning, again. Cold rain, I hate it, but at least it doesn't accumulate to the point that I have to shovel it, lol.  I have Gabby a nice box fixed up on the back patio. It is lined with the foam mattress material about 1" thick, it has a heating pad on it and a nice fuzzy blanket wrapped around it.  She seems very happy with it. She looks so pretty with her hair getting so thick with her winter coat.  She has grown a lot since we have met her.  I wish she could live inside with us.

I am going to decorate the fron windows, but not sure about a big tree, I think a smaller one will be more decorative, as I truly have no where for a larger tree.  I have a 7' and a 6' but I feel like they would both be too big.

I am going to make myself a nice bowl of oatmeal, and take me a nice tubby before getting ready to venture out for the day.  I hope you all are having a nice day, and No pain for our Ann today!

Hang in there Tigs, we will beat this demanding schedule,  one day!

Evening ladies
Happy Birthday to Ken from me as well Red.  Hope he takes you somewhere nice to celebrate.

Ann you know what they say "no pain no gain" but just how true is that exactly when referring to an injured/operated on limb? I think physio in your case should maybe ache a little but not actually hurt. As for the nurses and differing consultants and opinions it is so frustrating to be given conflicting advice and then made to do something someone else disagrees with. Everyone should be made to follow the exact same protocol.

Robert has one on one physio with a view to progressing to group work in the future. I think the group work is good because you are with like minded people and able to discuss your ops, progress, pain and medication as well as encouraging each other along. My dad loved the group and was sad when he only needed to have 6 sessions because he was doing so well and didn't actually need more than that.

Wow Red you have been a busy bee. Good on ya. I'm focusing on Friday when I shall get to grips with my house and christmas decorations on that day and Saturday. Maybe just maybe I'll have tackled most of what I want to do and have my house clean and straight again.

Oh dear re the sword. My boys have wanted some display samurai swords for years and we have said NO! Boys poo pooing when we've given our reasons, one being that an intruder could use it against you. But now Wac tells me it is against the law to buy one because of the very reasons we had concerns about. Hmm.

Sorry ladies but I had to abandon you for a while there, first a colleague rang to let me know she had returned home safe and sound and then Mark and his friend Paul arrived and stayed long enough to have a bacon butty and he's gone to a Burnley match as they are playing against Arsenal.

It's been an atrocious day weatherwise today with 3" of snow on the drive which we spent an hour clearing and then gritting before we could take Robert to the solicitors. We were there two and a half hours and we were very impressed with the guy and how he says he operates. He was aghast at Robert's injuries and what has been involved with the recovery so far. He said Robert's orthopaedic consultant is the one who looks after premiership football players so he was receiving the best care possible with him.
He guesstimates that Robert should be awarded a considerable amount of money possibly at least £20,000 and anything as much as £50-£100k!!  But we'll see. We won't have a penny to pay for his fees and charges whether we win or lose as the insurance company pay the solicitors fees as a seperate entity and if we lose the case then he has worked for nothing! Incredible.
Anyway he is going to send us the draft statement based on what we have told him and we can comment and send it back for him to finalise it which will form the basis of the first contact between us and the guy who hit Robert. He was going to suggest that we make contact after the court case in January but he thinks we should make it known asap so that Robert can get an interim payment seeing as he has not had any income whatsoever since April.

I was going to go to my craft class this evening but because the weather is so awful I am having the night in but I really, really need to go get some things from the supermarket as we are quite low on fresh items. Mark has just had a bacon butty using bread with green spots!!  omg!! lol

I'm offski now...nice to see you all and I'll be back tomorrow.
