Morning LadiesOh Tigs I do hope you are feeling better now, having a cold this time of the year is just awful, so much to do, so little time.  Well, unless you are like me, hop a long, then too much time and bored stiff
Nice to know you have just about finished your shopping Red, I am still thinking about some presents, I am going to bribe Bill to take me out over the weekend, he will say "are you up to it" and I will say "of course I am"  Well if I can take physio I reckon I can manage a little shopping

Looks like I will be making those mince pies for Christmas, don't think standing on one leg will affect them.  Tracy made them to my special recipe, froze them and somehow they have all been eaten!!.

OH  do I ever know the perils of early Christmas shopping!  I can remember one Christmas when the children were young I congratulated myself on all my early shopping, then I obviously did not put it "out of sight and out of mind" enough.  Well, first went the dates, then it went from there, so now I try not to buy anything that is likely to call to me from the cupboards before a couple of days before Christmas!!!. Kim took Jasmine out to-day, and she really enjoyed herself.  With Bill having to be a one man band at work, she doesn't want to be stuck here with me, so it is wonderful to have someone to take Jasmine out.  It would be terrible if she had to stay home with me all day

I only have boring things at say at the moment, I have sen't you two 'E' mails Red, one to the address you sent and one, prior to receiving it to the 'E' mail address that Tigs gave me,  Hopefully you got them both.

Lucy has been behaving herself recently, hope she's not sickening for something or, worse saving up her energy to do one big catastrophic thing

See what I mean lots of nonsense-so will just say Enjoy your day ladies

Morning!
Love your 'nonsense' Ann, which of course it isn't. It's topics of conversation that you would share with us if we were in the room with you at the time. But of course we're not, so all the conversation is one sided with no one answering so you think it makes it look like nothing.

I laughed at the CAT a strophic comment about Lucy. lol you chose your words wisely there didn't you Ann.

Can you not borrow a chair to push you in and around the shops Ann? but once you are in the shop and see something you want to look at more closely you could use your stick to get nearer ie beat the christmas shoppers out of the way! .  Just kidding lol. If it's something you want then summon Bill to pick it up and pay for it.

I think I shall have a little spell shopping on Sunday as I have just one present left to buy and that is for James who wants a compact digital camera that is simple to operate and will fit into his jeans pocket. I have tried to look for one online but because size is one of the most important features I am going to have to go and see them in the 'flesh' as it were.

I know what you mean about food/treat shopping in advance Ann...we have food monsters that make things disappear from our cupboards as well.

Today is the day I re arrange the lounge and get the christmas decorations up. James said he wants to help decorate the tree so I may leave that bare after I have fit it all together. It is an artificial one (of course, as you don't assemble a real one!) 7' Nordic pine which we have had for about 18 years now. It was £100 and bought from Woollies many years ago and is such an authentic looking thing that is made of three parts. It is so heavy I struggle moving the base never mind all of it together. In between I think I have bought a couple real trees and the year we moved into this house we didn't use it as everything was in storage so I bought a cheaper smaller fully decorated one to put us on as we only moved into the house on the 20th December 2000.

I can't remember if I gave you an update on the compensation claim but basically Robert is going ahead with it as the solicitor answered our queries and put our mind at rest It's going to be a long hard battle but the solicitor is keen and from what I can see he is thorough at his job and won't loosen his teeth from the opposition's bit until he feels Robert has been compensated as fully as possible within monetary allowances.

Anyway I best fly...so many things and so little day. Thanks for asking Ann, my cold is still very much with me but I'm working on round it. A morning in bed with the book I am reading at the moment was tempting but too much to do.

Good day ladies,

Ann, I love your chatter, as I do enough of it myself.  lol, and Yes I got both (all) your e-mails.  I am glad we got that sorted, and now I know I do have your right snail mail address as well
Love the card you sent in my e-mail. I am also a member of Jacquie Lawson, I love her work.  Her dog, Chudleigh is awesome, and his antics certainly make for funny cards.
The only problem with them is that you cannot put it on the doorframe, lol

It is a beautiful morning here, as it rained all day yesterday. I think after I get dressedI may venture out to look for my last few gifts.  I have NO idea on what to get my brother, but I must find something, as I need to get their package out in the mail. I will have to make some fudge for Mom first, but that will take about half an  hour so no stress there.
My Christmas items tend to disappear from the cabinets as well, I have bought all  my candies and hidden them in my room.  Only I can snack on them,

Tigs,  I am glad your still able to function with your cold, (not like we have much of an option ) but a bad cold could be a winter long one. My Mom tends to hold onto chest colds.

Glad  you feel like you got a good attorney, as Robert certainly deserves the max payout for what he has endured.  Patty was telling me yesterday that Phillip will have to go back to surgery as the muscle in his leg will not allow him to bend it.   Not sure what they will do with that problem,  but poor fella. She said they will go in and bend it for him while he is out cold.

Geez, it is well after noon now, I must get a move along. Where does the time go?  Someone keeps turning up the speed on the clock,  I know I have not been up for over 2 hours...?

Have a nice day ladies,  and good luck with your shopping this weekend Ann!

Hi Ladies
After I left here this morning I was still on the computer sorting through 'paperwork' for the solicitor for a good two hours.
When I finally got going on the decorations I almost gave up at 3pm when all three downstairs rooms were in such a mess and I had furniture to move around from where I had pushed it 'out of the way'. At one point my tum was hurting I felt worn out and Robert asked for a bowl of cereal! Now this young man manages to get around the kitchen long enough to cook bacon and make cheese on toast so I asked him to come down and make his own cereal. You should have heard the fuss! lol he did come down to eat though.
Anyway the rooms are in some sort of order now, the christmas ornaments are in place and everyday ornaments away and the tree is up with lights on but still needs baubles etc which James said yesterday that he wanted to help with.

Red re Phillip it sounds like he isn't doing enough stretching exercises and the muscle has shortened. Which muscle is it? He really needs to get some suitable stretching exercises from physio and quick, and then get on doing them because that is what the consultant was afraid of with Robert. There are several muscle groups in the thigh, calf and ankle that all need to be kept moving or they stiffen up and shorten when not used regularly.  Good luck encouraging him to get moving.

Hope you managed to get your brother's pressie bought.
Right I am off now to persuade James to help me deck out the tree.

Hi Girls just thought I'd post this so you can see Robert's leg as it was on the 31st Oct 08. The screw at the top was the one that was removed in his last op.
As you can see the healing is still ongoing of the tib and fib.
